bbc is also reporting that the nigerian official offered his vote to the yanks for something similar to that
none of this is supprising, just dont normally hear about it. typical fifa
i dont 100% disagree that he could be talking about usa with that comment, but it could also be australia.
stadium access in australia is fine, the majority are easilly accessable on foot or by a stort train/bus trip.
the weather is fine for a world cup, ok sure its not summer but that...
Re: ENGLAND will withdraw its candidature to host 2022 World Cup if the USA drops bid for 2018 World
england withdrew beacuse they and everyone else knows that europe is goin to get 2018. you would have to be a grade a moron to think that fifa would host a wc away from europe 3 times in a row...
this means shit all in reality
usa has 30+ NFL stadiums + another 30 odd college football stadiums to choose from so no chicago or detroit is no loss (espeically detroit because imo their field is crap)
ny meadowlands
seattle
miami
boston
philly
denver
dallas
ect
they are fine stadium...
all these articles in the last week arnt worth the paper they were written on.
for starters lowy needs to stfu (in relation to the article earlier in the week)- the deals done, everyone is happy so move on and work on continuing to get the bid over the line.
everyone was satisfied when the...

was a truely fantastic effort from the might brisbane, put together all the things they've been working on since preseason.
Looking foward to seeing that continue out west this week.
confident we can head over to your patch and get the points here, especially if we keep the possession, passing and pressing game we had last week.
heart had no answer.
Re: Oceania set to demand full World Cup place - Can Australia promise this - at the expense of Asia
this
as for oceania getting a full spot, imo it should happen, but wont.
reason being is the confederation is too weak.
in 01 they granted oceania a full spot, only to take it away and...
they were in brisbane yesterday and im told they were very impressed with Lang park, its proximity to the city and the area surronding the stadium (pubs, ect)
not buying anything what these guys say thou, they would say simular in every country.
yeah, nothing new from the afl zealot side of the fence...
you honestly beleive that only football fans will go? if thats the case your either deluded or ignorant (possibly both) Obviously football fans would goto some games, but so would general sports fans in general aswell as just event...
pro's
*biggest sports event in the world in australia, for australians to enjoy
* massive infux of tourists to the country, bringing $$$ into the local economy
* improved roads, public transport, ect to run alongside the world cup
*intenational recognition for australia
*upgraded sporting...
1) i doubt they will be on at the exact same dates\
2) i would of said the cricket world cup venues will be- Mcg, scg, gabba, waca, ao, bellrieve, manuka, marrara
what are you talking about barkly's blog is a fantastic piece of fiction, dillusion and general laughs which has been proven to be less than correct on many occasions around here:D
i'll agree they should, BUT based on 2007 asian cup all groups were played in 1 country/region.
sfs could be, BUT, an asian cup in australia gives afc the chance to have their premier event in state of the art stadiums and could potentially set a standart for future hosts, so i say homebush...
crowds (depending on day of game) would be between 10-15k for most of the games imo. dont forget australia is a good tourist desitnation so people from , japan, korea, ect would probly travel in good numbers, + theres the football fans in australia who would go. its probly more of a tournament...
more significant on a global level than ur little vfl league that very few people outside of victoria care about.
also- with asia's population, the asian cup is very well supported within asia, especially the next 1 with big population nations like china and india both in the torunament.
timing of the games and the fact people have to work is a major reason why people arnt going to this in australia.
ps- wheres the australian football international fan fest:p
firstly these figures of association football having the highest participation isnt news to me, but its probly a shock to those numpties at the DT.
As for your question, its dificuilt to say, soccer does have the highest youth participation, but the rugby's do have strong bases aswell, and...
afl media making up bullshit to try and derail the wc bid...while i never ;)
cheers for keeping the wc bid in the news you incompetant crunts, stick to whatever it is you "report" best.
good point about the tickets imo, for the 1st time there was a category 4 (only for sth african residents) which was cheaper than the rest, although based on some of the crowds looks like even those were too expensive.
as i said, good idea, perhaps wrong timing.
