G'day boys
just want to pass on thanks to the heathcote and Colbo trainers who handled the situation very well on saturday with young Levy. And also the heathcote netballer (whom i think is a nurse) who abandoned her netball commitments to help out the trainers on the ground and ensure that...
interesting to see you've named Luke Bell there ump. he is a very handy defender who sometimes can get a little lost, however if you set him a minding job on a key forward he usually does fairly well.
I seem to recall last year at Heathcote that he played a very good game on Weeksy when he...
what about Tony Barnes and Eddie Sheils? Both were premiership players at Seymour and team of century members (i think). Eddie was still running around only a couple of years back at Nagambie. I think he won a KDFL league medal in his 40's. Did Rick Hagar play at Northern united in the golden era?
mitta got knocked out in the prelim this year. 3 ex colbo boys played up there (McEvoy, Fraser, Slater).
Davis a boom recruit for Mounts - VCFL squad member and midfield gun in formidable Gisborne line up. Great for the comp that these good players keep coming into the HDFL.
G'day Lads
I went along to the Purana Task Force Drugs Seminar last nite at the all seasons. It was an excellent presentation, however only 20 people from across 3 leagues plus numerous junior clubs showed up (of the 20, there were 4 people from my club and I reckon 4 from Sth Bendigo)...
Hoppers had a good hit out against Lanky in windy and sometimes wet conditions. I think Colbo won by about 10 goals or so, moved the ball well in trying conditions. Luke Chadderton played well through the midfield along with Corey Jacobs.
Who the F*** is coaching the Grasshoppers?
maybe we need to submit an alternative ad in the paper:
Senior Coach Wanted
Must enjoy wearing Netball Skirts and/or nuding up at Sunday Sessions. Must wear jumper number 38. Must have at least 6 stubbies on a Thursday nite - after selection...
only a handfull showing up doesnt matter anyhoo.
What about Paul Dempsey ripping out 'born to run' on his pat?
loved Tex doing Chase the Dragon and Search and Destroy - an old Radio Birdman classic.
Re: Official GVFL thread
Come on rowey there's more to that story.
Didn't he nick himself shaving his plumbs just before the game? hence the inaccurate kicking.....
Re: Official GVFL thread
Hi Rowey
In '98 i think the lions finished just outside the finals under Glenn Cole. In '96 they only won one game - can you remember who they beat? :-)
Re: Official GVFL thread
Brendan Liddell is not a bad local player either bazz...
Is he going to stick with Seymour, or will he be heading to the Wang Maggies in 2008?
greetings lads from lovely amsterdam - i have got wind of the footy results and will be cheering on for colbo from afar - i think i am in italy when the gf is being played.
good luck to the hoppers lads and well done to my old mate kano on the 2's bnf.
hj
that's common knowledge, however weeksy missed the first few bombers games due to a foot injury, and although im not 100% certain, i think his name bobbed up on a few 2's team sheets...
Im alive lads...
sorry to neglect, but ive been busy organising my OS trip - I fly out next week.
few things:
Korto - yeah mate, water boy for me, aparently wasnt good enough to get a 2's game on the weekend. Bit disappointed, but also respect the decision, as I was only avaliable for...
Re: Official GVFL thread
Was talking to bigfooty's very own Wayne Weidermann last nite and it sounds like Jonno has lost none of his love for a stouche, the great man got sent off during the game.
Pretty sure Jonno will notch up 200 senior gv games next week.
Re: Official GVFL thread
my eyes are surely not deceiving me are they? because there was one Jonno Soloman in the goal kickers for the lions seniors today.... Great to see one of the best to ever don a lions gurnsey out there still getting a kick.
The roos may have suffered some injuries Scotty, however the way the reserves are travelling, there is plenty of talent ready to make the step up to senior football. Maybe Doona could pin up the statement 'crisis creates opportunity' in the change rooms this week. And if he does, make sure I get...
Lads
Have been missing in action - financial year duties have put me off course, and besides it's hard to get a word in with the heathcote boys dominating the posts!
BF Marquee - Yeah that's a ripper idea, but I wont be there unfortunately come GF Day as i will be somewhere in Italy...
War! ahh thats the spirit!!!
Andy: Damian Ellis got back from UK last week, trained last thurs and might be having a run this week, fitness and other things pending. Billy Odgen played his first senior game on the weekend since 2004 GF and finished in colbo's best. Great effort for a guy who...
