Hi all,
I am moving to Abu Dhabi in January and am curious to know about the local league there and if there are any Cats fans there.
I am also curious to know how i can watch the AFL whilst I am there. I am in Singapore currently and can access through Australia Network, though it seems...
Hi all,
I am moving to Abu Dhabi in January and am curious to know about the local league there.
I am also curious to know how i can watch the AFL whilst I am there. I am in Singapore currently and can access through Australia Network, though it seems that there is no Australia Network...
I'm happy. Prismall was overrated and there is no such thing as being owed a game or anything. He couldn't crack the team and looked better in the team because we are/were so good. He'll have his work cut out for him at Essendon.
My only disappointment is that we didn't screw Essendon and get...
Thank-god! :thumbsu:
It was frustrating to the point of being depressing. He wasn't good enough, didn't win his own ball and will be found out at Essendon if/when he recovers from his knee. It is hard to imagine a more overrated player.
I just hope that more respect is now paid to Byrnes...
Varcoe and Lonergan (replaced by Gamble and Hawkins)
As much as it pains me to say it Rooke isn't in our best 22 now unless Milburn retires. I love the guy and thought 2008 would be his year but he has gone backwards. Even then he isn't as valuable as Wojo.
Personally I think Milburn will...

We must be a chance now to get 11 home games in Geelong. This will be an excellent outcome for us in terms of a home ground advantage and financially.
The key thing will be to keep other teams from wanting to play there...
Show some respect. No favours? Nathan was the full forward in our first premiership in 44 years. He was an extremely valuable player last year playing a sacrificing team orientated game and his efforts were greatly undervalued.
As a premiership player Nathan has earnt the right to hero status...
a discussion that will last 1,000th of a second...
Wojinski in for Prismall. They aren't in the same league
Wasn't too many of them against the Bulldogs... yes, he is a Geelong player so of course I like and respect him, but honestly seems the sun shining out of dark places the way people...
:thumbsu:
Seems this thread is all about the sort of crying you are accusing Ablett of doing... Ablett has more talent than your whole pathetic team put together..
Freo have lowered themselves to the status of a dog team by using unsportsmanlike behaviour... kneeing players is just a scum...
Kelly and Prismall to come in, with Taylor staying in. Would not be surprised to see Tenace get a go before D'jerka.
Expecting Rooke to put in a special effort vs the Dogs.
What about the McLelland trophy? I think these things are undervalued. In some sports this would be the premiership trophy. It doesn't mean much if you don't win the flag but it is good validation that you were in fact the best team through the whole slog of the year, not just turning it on...
Kelly is great at winning the hard ball.
In fact I remember Kelly getting repeatedly benched or dropped back to the 2nds until he added hard ball gets to his game. Thompson bagged him in the media a few times about it. Now he is great but as for Prismall I don't see a hard edge to his game at...
Taylor unfortunately wont get a game when Egan is back. Milburn and Harley aren't going anywhere and neither are Mackie, Scarlett, Rooke, Hunt and Enright. There is no point in depth for depth's sake. With a salary cap one needs to keep its depth wisely. Taylor might end up elite but Egan is...
Prismall adds nothing we don't already have, but has a market value that he hasn't earnt.
He is talented but is the sort of Priddis type talent. Competent at AFL level and adds excellent depth to a good team and would be a senior player in a crap team like Richmond or West Coast, ala Priddis...
Yep. He's still someway off
I think it would not have been good for his development to play him in the Grand Final. He still needs to work harder. Can't let him think he's made it yet.
Ditto. If he keeps playing like that I'll warm up though. He was good.
Nup. Try 2011, 2010 if lucky...
5. Enright
4. Bartel
3. Selwood
2. Hunt
1. Mackie
G Ablett, Corey, Ling and Rooke were very unlucky.
Rooke was sensational. His bodywork and aggression at the ball (take note Port) was terrific and really cleared the way for his teammates.
Enright would be a very deserving AA
Varcoe...
Nup, he needs to demonstrate it for another 4-6 weeks first... unless Lonergan's form drops.. Hawkins needs to change some things about his game and learn to become more of a commanding presence... this is best learnt in the VFL not the AFL
Re: One for N Ablett to read
Very good post :thumbsu:
If football is his love, but not his life though then after winning an AFL premiership and seeing your dad who was the best VFL/AFL player ever and your brother who is the best AFL player currently, (better even than Judd) then he would...
