Sensitive one aren't ya? I bet you send players off if they look at you the wrong way. Please explain to me then. Help me understand why an umpire is doing high knee and A-marches before a game? And 100m sprints and walking lunges? All of this 45min before the game.
Says more about the quality of players we had at the club at the time doesn't it and vice versa with Harvey and North. Yep I must be a bandwagoner. Better than a handbagger I guess.
Better than Tucky! Lol
Tucky played his whole career on ball, not tucked away in the forward pocket or roaming the wing. Was a much better player and team player more importantly, which is little wonder he played in 7 flags.
Long sleeves look great but when guys wear them on a cold day when they're not known for wearing them (Westhoff), they just leave themselves wide open to sledging. Why give your opponent any ammunition?
campaigners who try to jump the queue can go burn in hell. For example, you're waiting to be served, there's no ticket system or dedicated line so you basically need to know who you were there before. Yet you get these campaigners who will rock up after you did and try to sneak one over you when...
Stratton was brilliant today. Such an underated player. If you didn't see TFS on Thursday night, Crawf had Stratts at no.5 for the most important players at the club which might have surprised alot of oursiders. You watch him closely at the ground and you really appreciate how much he helps out...
Another thing that really shits me. The clueless twats who will inevitably be sitting near you who constantly squeal 'kick it!' after a succession of three or four handballs.
All good questions. None I can answer though until I've got games under my belt. Most junior games (14 and above) have two field umpires so getting into the right position is a matter of experience, not fitness.
I'm not wanting to umpire in the AFL ya **** smack. I haven't once questioned the fitness levels required to umpire a AFL. But what they do during a game is not high intensity therefore they don't need to carry on with their pre game antics.
