Miles is looking elsewhere I thought? Freo should definitely stick to a first round pick for Weller, the boy is class.
I'd think if we were involved it would be our first going to Freo, Weller and our future first going to GC with Lynch coming to us. I think we might score a late pick back our...
I love the way people act like players are knocking back Collingwood at the moment. As if no player has ever gone to a bottom 10 side. They then sook about how we are not linked to players, followed by claiming that all players are linked to us because it raises their coin.
Man, it really...
Your posts are all laughably negative. You have this idea in your head that Collingwood are a laughing stock. We finished a couple of games out of the 8 and were probably the most consistently competitive team who didnt make the 8.
Lever is a good player no doubt, but we have Howe and Langdon who i think play similar roles. We need a bigger bodied key defender and forward. The other clear need is a small defensive back who can use the ball well.
Wish we would stop kicking the ball to Blair on a lead in the forward line. So often it leads to a turn-over and goal. Smith has cost us 2 goals so far aswell. For a soft player he doesn't have the skills. Apart from the top effort all around. WHE looks close to a break out performance.
I know woulda coulda's are bad, but GWS and Adelaide wins would see us borderline 8 right now. We aint far off.
THis game was as poor a game of footy i have seen. Glad we won though.
HIs name has been mentioned a few times but I don't get it. To me he is similar to Goldsack. Kinda stop gap filler and does ok without being amazing. If you put him in our team I can't see where he will improve. He is not a key forward or a keyback.
We pretty much dominated that game. So many more inside 50s and shots on goal. Just our forward structure sucks so bad! Jordan was huge as was Langdon down back. I reckon Dunn can keep his head held high aswell as a lot of the lads. What an awesome win!
Is Sutherland a bit of a risk to draft? let's say he has a tough first year, and injury or two. What are the odds of him saying ok, i'll go have a crack at cricket instead?
All of our forwards want to be the marking player. It annoys me to no end how our forward line has about 20 players in it everytime we move forward and the opposition constantly hit up free players inside 50. You basically have Moore, and then 4 guys who all play the same. Crocker, Fasolo...
He also brought the ball to ground for Broomhead's goal. So he directly contributed to 4 goals. Imagine if we had a crumber and told them to run of him. The Hawks defenders sure knew he would bring the ball to ground, but unfortunately we have all players who want to mark instead of crumb.
If he wasnt american, how excited would we be about a new guy taking 3 big contested marks and kicking straight? Not to mention how underutilised he was with delivery yesterday!
Richmond's list isn't really much better than ours anyway. The 2 areas they smash us in are key backs and small forwards. They are a great example/ and the bulldogs as well/ of how the system and buy in from everyone is as important as the list.
If they want a trade, the club gets the trade picks or players back in return. "contract means nothing" is bullshit driven by fans who think that everything should revolve around their own club. The clubs sign the contract, it's their fault if they decide the player needs to go and they refuse...
Howe is a great kick and he was contributing to turnovers leading to goals. The problem is that our movement means our players need to be elite in kicking to hit targets. Taylor would have looked like a great kick playing fo the hawks yesterday as they always had free players and options.
That's right boys. If we are playing poor, we don't go and support our team! That's what true supporters do! Not like those bandwagoners at other clubs.
Same people criticise the players for not caring enough about the club, but are willing to get rid of club legends for a stab in the dark first round draft pick. Pendles will go down as a club legend!
How did he have a bad game? 19 possessions, 7 marks and 5 tackles. He didn't have a great game by any means, but he is an outside player who relies on service which we sucked at yesterday. He is not a high disposal player and even so is playing consistent football. His last 4 weeks have been...
He was consistently decent through the match. He is available as a target on the wing which is his job. He didn't do anything flashy but had good hands and played a good game.
Guy reminds me of Licuria. He managed to get over his kicking issues. Would be a disaster to get rid of one of the few who always gives 100% and looks devo when we lose. Our movement is also so very poor which is leading to a lot harder kicks being attempted. We have mastered the strategy of...
Few points. It took until Pendles had the ball to realise how to kick to Cox's advantage. Bombing it high above his head is not the answer as he can get bodied out too easily.
I don't get the hate for Hoskin Elliot. 19 Possessions, good amount of marks and Tackles too. I think he is a...
You mean the media who has mentioned his comments about being finals every single week, have asked him constantly about it, and including Fox that called he was done about 8 weeks ago? The media should not be calling for coaches to be sacked. This is not the politics. It's up to the clubs to...
Who is top line? Levi is pretty close to elite for contested marking. In terms of goals he has the following talls ahead of him: Cameron, Franklin, Daniher, Riewoldt, Kennedy, Walker, Brown, Hawkins, Lynch, Dixon, Hooker, Darling and Patton.
Which of those is likely to be available? Most of...
5th for contested marks in the league. 23rd for goals in the worst scoring team in the league. You wouldn't offer him slightly above the average age. Not even keeping in mind he might actually take some focus of Moore and let him develop better?
Not really, He kicked 24 -12 2 seasons ago. I'd take a Patton or a Wright in front of him in a heartbeat. Truth is though they are not available and Reid is too similar to Moore. If Cox showed some marking improvement then maybe he would be the answer, but with no real quality crumbers...
Yeh I agree and would not sell the farm for him. He is clearly the best big contested mark we could get and would immediately make our structure better. Also keep in mind this dude has been playing in one of the worst teams we have seen over the past 10 years. He is having a career best season...
Our service is pretty average at the moment, it doesn't help that we are kicking it to the most dysfunctional forward line in the competition. Who would you trust in our current forward line to hit up or at least put in a contest? Casboult would at least stop them from marking it.
He has 20 goals from 13 games. This would translate to about a 34 goal season if he kept it up. You really think improving by 6 goals a season over 22 matches is fairy land? He has done this in a team that is the lowest scoring in the whole league.
Collingwood has scored almost 200 points more...
