You guys definitely got a bargain with Bruce, the last couple of games this year you could really see him getting back to his best. I have a feeling this will be one of those trades that will be seen as a massive steal in the next few seasons, wouldn't surprise me if he's contending for the...
I agree, Lethlean has been really, really good for us sofar, and from the outside it looks like he's passionate and committed to turning us around, to bring us back to finals and deliver a flag. I feel like he took the role as a way back into the AFL system, but has become attached to the club...
Now that Bing's off the table, offer them 12 & future 1st in exchange for Hill & 22, use 18 for Howard & Ryder, split 22 and use the better one on Zac Jones & the other on Butler.
I agree, I thought the same thing so I added our future 3rd to the hypothetical trade to make it more appealing. I posted that on the Geelong board for opinions and there are a few opinions both ways as to whether it would be worth it for you or not.
Would you guys be interested in 18, future 3rd & Jack Steven for 24, 36 & 37? Essentially points wise would be Jack Steven for 37 and you'd trade up the draft which I hear is what you want. We'd get chips for other trades.
Geelong are interested in trading up the ladder, I'd personally offer them 18 & Jack Steven (paying some of his contract) for 24, 36 & 37. It'd be a compromise, points wise we'd be getting 37 & half of 36 for Jack Steven and giving Geelong what they want (going up the ladder).
I've felt like Marshall has been our most important player this year, he's just been outstanding. When you replace our most important player with a complete liability, it shows what happens. I've never been a fan of Longer, even when he was at his best for us I rated Hickey above him.
I don't know, everyone seems to be getting a general idea or what's going on now, and personally I'd say being able to realise your mistakes and make the tough decisions to rectify them looks a lot better on your CV than your willingness to ruin your club in an attempt to keep your own...
I agree with three of the decisions but I have a feeling Freeman will get another go at another club and will end up being a very good player. Based on all the articles, it seems like his injuries were finally behind him for good this time. I hope I'm right, because he deserves it, but at the...
To be honest, I'm not deflated at all about the draw. Going into the game all I wanted to see was some real passion and drive from the players to kick start the season, and we absolutely saw that. They were playing their hearts out at the end, and while sure, we didn't get the perfect result, we...
That was my first thought watching it but he was being run down and was losing space. He made the right call. If the kick was a tiny bit lower or Carlisle's hands slightly less sweaty, we would have won the game.
He's been pretty out of form since he was injured in 2016, but he seems to be coming back to his best, which is very exciting. I've always rated him higher than Longer personally. He's doing what he's good at sofar this game, being a presence around the ground.
I actually like the Hickey selection. I imagine him and Marshall will be sharing the time in the ruck. Hickey's strong around the ground as a contested marking target, which we really struggle with, especially in the forward line. Sure, he's had a few poor games but if he can recapture his 2016...
Disappointing result, we seriously cracked under pressure in the first quarter. It was disappointing to see, that much is obvious. Having said that- I don't think we're behind where we should be this season. We had a much harder fixture this year, and I predicted as soon as I saw it "we will not...
It's annoying because Hickey is so good when he's in form, he gets around the ground and has way more of an impact than Billy. But how can you defend him after a performance like this? Any form he once had is gone, entirely.
So disappointing to see that from Hickey. I REALLY miss Hickey's 2016 form. He was hands down our best ruckman, I loved to watch him play. Now I'd rather have Holmes or even Pierce.
Don't see us getting back into this. We already look spent. The 2 6-day breaks hurt us. Not saying that's why we're behind, but it'll stop us from getting back in.
I agree, if I was the opposition I'd be straight up pissed off and have disdain for the player and the club who did that. Alas, because it was Roo, I found it a bit funny. Either way, I wouldn't have liked to see it.
I wouldn't worry about some players having lower game time percentages than usual, coming off of a game with 1 on the bench the week before it's to be expected that some would come up sore.
Now that I've cooled off a bit after our loss to the Hawkpires (I won't go there, it's already been...
I have no words. I'm so proud of how the players played, they put everything in it. But my mood is just plain pissed off. Robbed by the umpires, no other way to put it. Anyone who isn't a Hawk could see that...
Most exciting game of footy in a very long time, especially after last week with 3-down, I honestly thought we'd have no run left for this game. Not only an exciting game, but exciting for the future if we're able to bring it to the reigning premiers.
Even if we lose the last quarter (I hope...
I feel like it'll be Armitage next, he's been taking part in the media a lot over the past year or so- might be "gearing up for the job" so to speak. I don't think Armitage will remain captain for long though. I feel like Newnes, Paddy and Hugh all show leadership potential beyond Armitage...
I'm a little late to the party, but watched the game live and again yesterday. Everything has already been said, but I want to point out again how great it is to see Dunstan back to his best. For most of last year he looked a little out of place after his shoulder surgery, but he has definitely...
