Re: Ballarat - Thanks Ted
Main thing is the AFL are keen, they will be pushing for this. The Libs are likely to to be keen to be seen in partnership AFL, footy rates higher in most people's lives then politics.
It's a 4 year political cycle, so even if this doesn't get fix up now it will be...
The Dockers have flagged looking at a new club song, I know that will cause a mixed reaction from fans, but I've had a play around with some ideas.
To the tune of Anchors Aweigh:
Freo forever boys,
Freo are we.
Home of the Purple haze,
The premiership flag we’ll raise.
Freo forever...
Fari enough, I'm just really happy we are trying something that seems logical and has support from the members, Vic Govt and the AFL. We are being given every chance in the world to grow and importantly thrive.
I think the support the AFL has given recently has been excellent as well...
As a Hobart supporter I would have loved to see them play in Hobart, but I never wanted to go down the path of them moving to Tassie - which I think the playing of 7 games down here was leading too. If such a move happened, North would be dead as any of us know it.
The push toward Ballarat is...
Retiring numbers is silly, yes leave them for a year, but then out they come to play the following one. What better way to remember players then seeing their number running around. By retiring the number you are creating a bit of "out of sight out of mind".
Plus we need to save money and...
We have that many? Go figure!! Go us!!!
People tend to be getting a little insecure when they start saying my member-ship is bigger then yours. Seems like your club has just sold off 4 games a year that your larger member-ship can't go and watch!
But, I guess you're all a "happy team at...
A map of Tassie on your jumpers is pretty appropriate I think!
But seriously, it will be great to have a Tassie team in the AFL next season. I hope in the heritage round they allow them to play in the Tasmanian state jumper!
Yes, he said we had changed our name. The Kangas are finacially poor and need to try everything to stay alive, that's a fact we live with. What is the Hawks excuse for selling it's home games and identity?
Good point about the name though, on the 1996 Premiership cup it says North Melbourne...
In a way I'm jealous as the Kangaroos need every cent they can get and this is something they should have looked at. My understanding is that this is the first phase of a plan by the Tasmanian Government to get an AFL team to relocate to Tasmania, that doesn’t have to be the Hawks, but it...
btw, Davey wasn't in the PSD.
Yes he was, he wasn't taken by us or anyone else, fell through to the rookie draft and then got picked up.
The taking of Shane Harvey was definately to keep Brent happy.
He's gone as an AFL player. Believed his own hype. By the end of this year he will have had about 5 games in two years - injury happen, but the form drop at the top level looks terminal.
Pity we used the draft pick we got for him the way we did.
Pretty easy comeback. Well I'll say you haven't coached or played at AFL level so you opinion on Wells isn't worth anything either.
I don't think Wells gives us enough. He should back himself a bit more, at the moment the brillance is just flashes.
Leave him in for the rest of the season, give him plenty of game time. All I want from this season is to be shown where our future is.
When was the last time we had a first gamer come in like a Thomas, Murphy or Polo and have a blinder, I can't remember one.
