My gf slept right through that but fair play she never grumbled either at my excitement.

NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Reckon we pants them from here on

They batted in sunshine Day 1
We batted under cloud on Day 2

Helped make the game close, plus Labuschagne & Smith missing out in 4 hits

That tiny window of play where their two openers were dismissed was a huge turning point.

It was the one period where they had to play like real batsman and they looked like fish out of water.

Crawley in particular having a big sulk over tough conditions as he walked off suggested that team isn't really that confident in themselves when conditions don't suit.

I like Atherton but he is on some serious copium about England having the running of the game.

I think they did, the English middle order were pathetic yesterday. Conditions were easy for batting and they all threw their wicket away.

But hey, they still get a pat on the back from Brendon as they walk into the dressing room so surely worth it?

Spare a thought for the surgeon(s) who put Cummins back together again.
It's still remarkable he has played 50 tests never mind to the astonishing standard he has with what he went through.
I still remember him turning up at a club 3rds/school ground in Belfast to play many years ago.

Makes me sad that James Pattinson didn't have the same success story.

They got caught up in themselves. Completely arrogant and helped harden our resolve IMO.

Absolutely. Fair enough bat aggressively. That's fine and it has made them better and more competitive and given them more belief. But you don't need to do wildly stupid things like that 1st day dec. Totally unnecessary and helped us far more than them.

Kidding himself. Possibly the biggest road ever seen for a test in England and they didn't even have 400. Was arrogant and idiotic, and ultimately cost them the game.

Did it really though? Was let down by dropped catches, sloppy fielding and a Broad wicket/no ball. I reckon he captained pretty well and went for the win, which should be commended and not criticised. Test crickets the winner!
