Absolutely agree, he is a risk I know but we don’t have openers, he can also make it pay off. I have no confidence in anyone else at the top.
I suspect Konstas will be in very soon. 29* atm. Head needs to be there until someone else comes along.
He is a leader and needs to get his ‘head’ in the game and set an example at the top as I suspect we have an inexperienced lineup very soon.

Unfortunately I think Smith's weird technique which seems to rely mostly on having a great eye and 'intuition' seems to have had it. Have always thought it was something which clearly worked wonders, but the lack of 'conventional' technique would mean a steep decline since he wouldn't have much to fall back on once age started to catch up.

Obviously still a phenomenal career but personally can't see him bouncing back meaningfully from this point.

never thought the day would come.. he averaged 63 for so long… in free fall now.. sad but not unusual for a mid 30s legend.. probably didn’t help him tweaking shit in his peak trying to make the T20 side.
