peoples thoughts on nathan g. brown?
i think he could be a worthwhile pick at his price that not many other coaches will have.

anyone know how his pre-season has gone?

I think he is worth a gamble. He seems to start seasons off quite well and could post some big scores in the first ten rounds. But given his age (31) and his history of injuries, he could fall away in the second half of the year. If he does get off to a flyer you might be able to upgrade him to either Roo or Pav after 7/8 rounds, but some might see that as a waste of a trade.

Thoughts on Houli as a 4th Def?

Midfielder listed as a back with a good price @ $450K. A genuine chance to move to the next level and is a natural SCer and is not someone who will appear in every team.....but coming off injury and sits in that bad price range. At that price he would need to be a keeper and ideally end as number 7 Defender. Also I dont think the Bombers will be pushing for the 8 this year and that is a little off putting as well.

I dont know enough about his injury but think he is a quality player at a good price.

i have got him as my 4th defender, he is a supercoach specialist, against the bulldogs in NAB cup round 1, he had 14 touched and somehow turned that into 114 SC points, i reckon he will take the next step if he stays injury free which he seems to be doing at the moment i think, he has also bulked up over the pre-season.

Houli is a tough one.

He is a little over-priced and whilst he is capable of scoring well, there is a question mark over his durability and he will have the odd score of 50 every now and then.

He is a gamble, but again SC is all about risk and if you think he is capable of taking that next step then go for it.

personally, i wouldnt touch Bryan with a ten foot pole.

peoples thoughts on how porps will go this year?
how is his detachable arm? will he get through the year? if so, will he score as well as he did last year?

cheers

Id say he may take a while to get into some form due to a lack of preseason, also a risk given his history, maybe wait and see how he starts the year and if he works into it..

My question..

is houlihan a must have?

at the moment my teams seems to have one too many of..
-Adcock
-Malceski
-Raines
-Skipworth
-Houlihan

Looking at maybe getting rid of one of those who do you guys think it should be? To fill my full side that is..

Houli a bit inconsistant for my liking at his price, but can score well, so if you pick him be prepared for a few 30s

Any news on Jared Brennans injury?? and does anyone have a insight of Vossy plans for him?? will jump on him if fit and Vossy has midfield plans???

I too have been looking at Leunberger? so next question
Leunberger vs Goldstein vs Bellchambers????

This price range gives me Ablett

Cheers

I dont really like any of those ruck choices. Burger would be the pick of them and he'll be luck to average 40 imo. Not sure about Brennan but most are avoiding him now cos of his hammy/quad or whatever.

I've got a couple -
Goodes - fantastic, consistent scorer but im worried his best has past him
Judd - gets the number one tag, is fit but hasn't shown great form preseason..i've got him but just interested to see if anyone has jumped off him, possibly on someone who won't be tagged week in, week out

I'm a little unsure of Goodes after his end to last season. Not sure if he will spend more time up forward this year. I've had him in my team the past few years but i'm not taking him this year.

As for judd, he gets the no 1 tag every week and has for years now. Hasn't impacted on his scores in the past and can't see why it would now, especially if hes had a good preseason and is fit.

I'll throw up a name that hasn't been spoken of much, Chris Johnson. Only question mark is his place in carltons 22. Otherwise i'd be all over it

Good question Kid.

I have recently taken Hoops and Raines out after having them for the last 30 days and 600 team combo's. I cant quite see 'enough' upside. I'll probably be taking more of a risk with rookies this year.

Dont get me wrong the potential of both, especially Raines, is good but I think the likely return on my investment might not be that great.

Having said this I may change my mind...or...they may just tear it up this year anyway.

Would it be ******ed of me to have Ablett, Bartel and Selwood in my midfield? I know it's not ideal to have 3 from the same club because if we have a down game blah blah blah but realistically all 3 will average well over 100.

Having so much trouble trying to split Gibbs and Selwood but thats a different story and at the end of the day their points difference at the end of this year will probably be next to nothing

Two names I haven't seen mentioned yet are Daniel Motlop and Steven Milne. Both are relatively cheap and CAN produce pretty big scores on occasion, do any of you have them in your team or think they are worth it for just under $380K each?

I would stay away from Milne, Motlop could be a good get but huge risk involved.
What are peoples thoughts on Shaun Burgoyne?

Chad Cornes???
He appears to be included in everyones team. I've been putting him in without even thinking about it. Is he past it? Are his injuries a concern? Can he reach old form? Would you consider looking elsewhere?

Write off the Chad at your own peril.

The guy is a superstar and a champ! When fit and in form he can rake in some huge scores. Definitely worth the risk IMO.
