Hey, who do u think are the best value midfielders above 500k?

The likes of Cross, Pendles, Thompson, Dal Santo, Burgouyne, Murphy etc....

I'd go cross. He is far to consistent to not have in your team, Hardly ever gives a bad score So reliable to have in your team week in week out.

What are peoples thoughts on S. Stevens, M. Stokes an P. Haselby?

Dont like any of them although there seems to be a lot of support for Haselby and if you had to pick one it would be him.I just think Haselby is going to take a while to get back to his best after his knee reco and hasnt looked that great in the pre season so i dont expect him to do to well early on

I wouldnt have any of these players, i cant see them improving greatly above their price.
Some people want Haselby, but i really dont see any value in him. And Stevens and Stokes will be deep forward, both their teams need goalkickers.

How do u think Shaun Burgoyne will go this season?

havent seen much of SB this pre season so i dnt kno if hes injured or what.. hes a gun no dening that, he will be a good point of difference player, hopefullly with carr back he can be the player that used to b most expensice in sc.. defently a possibility im thinking of a guy also to return to form

DAL SANTO?

Yer, im not sure whether i should get dal. He had a 'bad' year in 2008, but still averaged over 100. He could turn it on this year and skyrocket, or he could almost as easily flop. I think he's in the same catergorie as s. burgoyne.

I will probably have him or SB in my team, at this stage ive got SB.

What about another mid around the same price: Scott Thompson?
He had a great year last year but im not sure how much he can improve, and he will probably get the no. 1 tag now. should i get him?

Points taken cheers. Just bringing them up cause they have had a great NAB Cup/ Challenge so far

Thompson - I almost don't see how he could possibly be as good as he was last year. That's the only concern, really, that you may be able to find an improver for the same money.

Have not heard how the Porplyzia is travelling, will he be fit for round 1 after his shoulder surgery? if fit I think he is a 100 ppg player,.

I dunno... I reckon last year was THE year to have Porpz. (luckily I did).

He's fairly exxy this season isn't he - how much upside does he have?

Awesome player, no doubt, I just wonder if you can get on-board something better in that price range, one without a removable arm.

might have a point there...

the porpz was good to a lot of people last year I thought he might have an extra 15-20 ppg in him considering he averaged 96.5ppg over the first 14 games (prior to arm falling off), his last 4 games brought his average down 10 points...

I might spend the extra and get didak? but will be watching porpz if he decides to play a practie game

hi, i am just wondering, with warnock now at the blues, who is going to be freo's 2nd ruck? will zac clarke play much?

i have 92k in the bank and looking to upgrade eaither adcock in the backline or hasleby in my mids. who should i upgrade/leave? and who should i get. if i trade adcock i have 500k to spend if i trade hasleby i have 450k to spend????

i think unless sandilands gets injured, freo's second ruck will get very little opportunity, that's why warnock left for carlton. last year kepler bradley seemed to be being used to pinch hit in the ruck when sandilands when off for a rare break, but he's rubbish, i wouldn't touch him in SC with a ten foot pole!

Warnock...stay away, stay well away as mentioned previously will struggle to game every week with Kreuzer, and Cloke being so versitile down forward..

Bachar Houli is he set to be a SC star this year?? in 08 he averaged 84 with some nice 100's and only one score under 50 ( a 48). I tentativly have him in my team as a keeperfor the whole year.

Yeah I'm looking at this right now. I had Birchall but with his niggling injury I think he will start slow and come good later in the year (I think this will go for all Hawthorn players).

There's not a lot else around that $450k mark for a defender. Will be interesting to see how he goes tonight (if he is playing - I'm lazy and can't be bothered checking squad lists).

this has probably been asked a lot, sorry for that, but what r guys thinking when it comes to dean cox? i have him atm, but if i downgraded him to hille it would free up a lot of cash. my other ruck is mcintosh.
what are you guys doing when it comes to rucks?

sblack your suppose to name someone dude....

Oh well how bout

Josh Kennedy (WC)

You didnt get much of a reply on this one so I thought I would elaborate for you. Josh will average over a goal a game this year and around the 15 posession mark, he should also average 6+ marks all of this will get his score to around the 90 mark average. He will most certainly go up in price fro his 330,00 (ish) mark to around the 400,000+. He has had a fairly solid pre-season with only a few niggling concerns but will be right to go round 1.

I find that very hard to believe that you can even predict that sort of output From Kennedy.Good luck with it anyway

Just a quick one gentlmen, i have $400,000 left for my last midfielder. Names i've tossed up include -

hasbley $358,400
masten $306,000
t tuck $327,000
dyson $347,800

hasbley seems the obvious

They do say in the prospectus that players in their 6th are most likely to 'step up'. I dont know if i really buy this one ...but...dyson (i think) is in his 6th year. Dyson is a spud i reckon though.

Tuck seems to be the obvious one at the minute.

I'd go, in order of preference:

tuck
masten
haselby
just about everyone else you can think of
dyson
