What do this field and the Brisbane Lions have in common?

So Hawk, Stiller, Sheldon, Buchanan, Reztie, Drummo, is 6 off the list, Martin and Maloney in along with 3 draft picks. Assuming Bartlett and Acorn are retained that leaves one spot for rookie upgrade which would have to be McKeever. Which would mean Crisp staying on rookie list. Does this work?

I think you're onto a winner there.

Also assuming Hudson stays.

what were you expecting?
Special as in Karnezis for Post, Pick 8 for Jesse White?
I've grown accustomed to a high level of trading over the last couple of year... The odd bargain or trade surprise. Something that we weren't expecting. This year, we got an old reasonable-quality inside mid, and a 3rd string ruckman, who I think we're going to try to force to play up forward.

Was hoping for something like the Hawthorne GWS trade in the last few minutes - a 2nd string player for Jed Anderson... maybe for us, a shot at a GC pre-listed Boston or something similar. Something that at the time we'd go "didn't expect that", and later have to say "hats off to Kerr, he was spot on". I just don't see it this year. Short of Martin showing here-to-unforeseeable abilities, I just don't think we saw the Real Kerr this period.

Maybe it's still to come though... Who knows, maybe Kerr has designs on Lucas Cook, and we'll sign him as a delisted free agent, and then somehow cram 10kg on to him before the start of the season. Cook is actually one I could see being a late bloomer. At his age, I was still a rake incapable of putting on any body mass, and now I can't keep it off... Give him some muscle, and a development outside the dees, and you never know, I suppose that could be a Kerr masterstroke.

I can always dream.

Would be nice to see us benefit from neat trades yes.

But we won't ever know if we tried. What if we enquired GWS about Anderson, or GC about Boston, but they turned us down?

I wonder how differently things would have turned out if Tippett had never been a consideration.

We presumably still have a fair bit of room in the salary cap, so I reckon we may leave a spot for the PSD.

hey guys new poster would just like to give my two cents, would have been great if we were able to work out a trade with GWS over anderson or gc with boston or bourke would have been excellent additions to our team but otherwise I'm over the moon we didnt give up pick 33 for martin as had been mentioned everywhere would have been definite overs

Have been told the million has been reserved to get Sherman back.

Welcome aboard captainrich.

It'll be interesting to see if the Lions show any interest in either Boston or Bourke in the draft(s). While it might've been nice to pick Boston up on the cheap, I'm not crushed we have (so far) passed on both of them TBH.

cheers whatboutbob, hopefully bourke is around come the rookie draft would be a decent option unless we are done with talls and would look to only draft smaller players someone like coleman-broome though we might be put off by the failure of brad harvey. And boston from the looks of it seems to be a star, would have been great to get him in trade period or the draft but we will probs use pick 34 on a defender and for all we know GC might decide to hold onto him as they haven't traded him yet.

Out of curiosity do we have any priority queensland zone selections or are they all gone to GC now because that would be a bit ridiculous
