Higgins is a skillfull player. Could be an excellent addition to the squad. Don't know what you've got against Lumumba. He would be a great pick-up - he's quick, good disposal and kicks the odd goal here and there. I'm not fussed about the others you mention.

So would it be Jones vs Waite?

Or do we go after both?
Don't see why we couldn't go for both, as long as we get Jones rather cheap. Wait has 1-2 years left, Jones could potentially play for another 8. I guess it'll just depend how they rate the development of our tall forwards for when Petrie & (possibly) Waite retire. Maj, Taz & Curran all have serious question marks, Black & Wood aren't big enough for the 1st forward spot and Brown looks the goods, but who knows! Will be interesting to see what happens...

I respect the bloke Harry is (I dont know what his current name is). I mean that.

It takes a lot of balls to stand up to the casual homophobia that permeates any all male environment. I respect any AFL player who goes against the tide to try and bring males into the 21st century.

Having said this, I dont want him as a player.

I don't want Higgins either. He's had about 2 decent years in his career. 4 years for an older Brad McKenzie seems excessive.

Im puzzled we arent after a key defender.

Thompson will be 29, Grima 30, Firrito 32.

This is a position of weakness, and will only get weaker.

A tall, big-bodied defender is at the top of my wish list. Must be tall, must be strong.

Apart from an outrageously overpriced Frawley (is he that ''tall''?), I'm not sure who is out there.

Joel Tippet? Maybe.

Merritt? Undisciplined.

Schoenmakers? Not if you've seen him play recently.:drunk::$

Have we got a forward that we can convert, like Carlton did with Sam Rowe? Please nobody suggest Robbie Tarrant. He drops too many marks and will be outbodied too often.

Any other candidates? Anywhere?

Lumumba is not quick nor has good disposal.

I am not totally against getting him to increase pressure for spots, but he is not as good as you suggest.

What I respect about Heritier L is his willingness to run out of defence. Can cause chaos in the opposition.

I'm not sure anyone thinks it's funny. It's just no one really cares what his name is because he's a a self entitled ****** and changes it as often as he changes his underwear. Flawed Genius and yourself seem to be the only ones that care.

I brought this up at the time.

People only this board have appended infinite x's to Derrickxxxxxx.

Some didn't even manage to correctly spell K-o-l-o-d-j-a-s-h-n-i-j or make a realistic attempt to do so.

Yet not one protest to respect the life choices and backgrounds of these men.

True, he does have flair and takes the game on, but that's about all he does MrR.

He is also a liability once he has broken a line as he bombs to nobody.

Rod Butterssssssssss.

beg to disagree with you as usual. He may not be lightning quick but he's pacy. And he'd do more than pressure for a spot.

Who's position does he take in our backline then? (assuming we are 100% fit)

He is not pacy. He is no quicker than average for his size.

This is my problem with him.

Too often he takes possession on the half back line, looks a million dollars running out of defence, launches into a rebound-50 and...

...kicks it straight to the opposition's wingman.

He isn't an upgrade on any of our halfback flankers, who are all either better skilled or quicker (or both!) than him.

What, everytime?!

Ask Collingwood supporters what they think of him currently and whether he turns over the footy. Think they would have a pretty good idea of what he offers (or doesn't offer).

I watch Pies regularly as some of family support them. As previously, I am content if he came over but lets not pretend he is better than he actually is.

Yep, 100% agree on what I've seen.

Agree 100%. I'd add Daniel Talia or Eric Mackenzie to our list before Dangerfield.

In the unlikely event that Wilkins and a 4th rounder won't get the job done, I think that the addition of Tippett to our rookie list may well prove to be one of the more astute pieces of drafting in our recent history.

Let's wait and see.
Isn't Lumumba a premiership player?
And yeah, my brother is a Pies supporter, and is heartbroken at the prospect of him leaving ...

You seriously would pick Lumumba before Spud?

Shane Clayton was a premiership player. In itself it is meaningless without context in terms of a players worth.

ok, how I see it.

Higgins is a better option then LA and will offer a more reliable backup and could force himself into best 22, and has age on his side, bit concerned about $400k a year over 4, but what was LA on?

Waite is a stop gap situation to cover us for a year or two, nothing more nothing less, I think Drew only has one or two years left at best, and Black's form all year would have been a concern, however for some reason (probably developmental) we would not promote Wood over Black.

Jones is a younger non-injured version of Tarrant in some ways, is Taz thinking of calling it a day? or are the Doggies looking to give him a fresh start?

Harry whatever his name is
Red-Dice-No-No-No.jpg

how does that sound?

Not this trash again...
