If Carlisle was happy to play as a KPF his value would double. KPBs are as romantic as a date at Maccas. Dixon has been struck down with injuries but at his best he is a 3 to 4 goal forward who can play ruck for a chop out. With the reduced interchange his types value will sky rocket. Even Rhys Stanley- we were paid ridiculous overs for his adaptability. Both unfortunately injury prone but Dixon could be a revelation if his body gets right.

True story - Took my wife to Macca's on our first date ;) Been together 4 years now.

Carlisle is happy to pinch hit forward when needed. He just doesnt want to be there full time. Make no mistake, we might be talking him up as a CHB but we will use him as a genuine swingman when needed.

Going to be crazy in the last 10 mins of the 2020 GF when all of Goddard, Carlisle and Lee rush forward to help out Bruce, McCartin and Membrey hehehe

im not saying mistakes never get made at draft time and picks no matter how high or low can be boom or bust.
But when the trade for Carlisle is finalized lets not all go ape droppings rubbishing our recruiting team saying stuff like " we shouldve done this instead" " thats a weak as piss trade" blah blah blah.
As much as we all rate ourselves im sure Bains and Trout etc are a teensy bit more experienced at this than we are.
If we could get Jake and absolutely reem Essendrug up the Khyber Pass at the same time im sure they would.
But sadly that aint gonna happen. We will give something decent to get something decent and it will be a win/win for both clubs.

I just made the mistake of listening to trade radio, and those peanuts still cannot understand why we haven't let pick 5 go for Carlisle.

Are we just too biased in thinking pick 5 alone is not worth just Jake on his own, or are these "experts right".
If it was the other way around, and Essendon or any of he other clubs big clubs had 5 then you could be sure that they would be saying that we shouldn't expect 5

Pick 5 for pick 10 and a future first
Into 10 and Carlisle and 25

Is a good haul.

Leaves us with a future first, picks 24 and 25 to get a deal done to get us back into the first round this year
That's a great deal, but what our chances of getting back into top 10. If that can be done we should do it now

Sounds great..... But will it happen?

Essendon don't seem keen to even give us one 2nd rounder for pick 5, how likely is it they would cave for pick 10?

Have seen Tom Lee's name thrown up a few times on here. Anyone able to give an update of where he is at with his footy? Thought he was going in right direction, then disappeared last year. Played year as key defender for Sandy didn't he?

That'd be great but I don't see it only being 5 for 10 and another 1st. Port will probably want a 2nd rounder back.

Pretty much as far as playing for Sandy, signed an extension during the year (for one season I think)
Somewhat surprisingly if you ask me, but could be our CHB backup plan, especially if Fisher and / or Dempster pick up injuries

We are just letting the Bombers know that there are ways they can miss 5, IMO

i.e. if we trade 5 for Ports 10+29, we have done better than the Bombers current offer already...

So bombers need to at least throw back one of their first rounder

Didnt Adelaide offer 13+28 for 5?
If we got them to increase the offer a just bit to 13+28+32 for 5+45 then we would have 3 second rounders... 13 for Carlisle
As long as we have three second rounders which we trade to GWS so they can get 3 inside 10 picks (2 academy & pick 7) we get pick 8 & their third rounder..... Mathieson or JOM come on down & insurance for Carlton taking Rice at 21 & space to negotiate with the Filth for Freeman.

GWS the big winner replacing Trelor with 2 first round picks through trading and their own pick makes 3 inside 10 and an extra first round next year (now that's what I call steak knives!!). They only need second rounders for top up points to augment first round academy picks. They will be a powerhouse just when we are making a charge up the ladder.

I cant see port accepting that deal. They will say 10 and future secon rounder max

Another day yet another trade proposal for Carlisle being bandied about. My preference for getting Jake is still the deal we originally put forward , but where my real frustration sits at the moment is with Collingwood and them wanting a second round pick and a possible late pic for Freeman when they may get Aish for just pick 26. No one seems to concerned at this and seeing as the last few drafts there have been quality players slide that far we need to be as strong on this deal as we are being with Jakes. Nathans potential value is huge but looking at the problems he has had over the past two years and never having played a game should bring down his actual market value significantly. I think a 3rd or 4th round pick is reasonable considering what we got for Cripps and the real promise he had shown in the same time frame.

Also i was watching Encino Man last night and i thought this perfectly summed up the way Dodoro handles his trade negotiations.

Love Encino Man, (or California Man which was the name it was known in some international markets). Had a huge crush on Megan :hearts::hearts::hearts::hearts::hearts::hearts:

I don't see it either. What if they finish middle road next year? That's offering pick 10 and 11 for pick 5. I can't see it.
I agree that it seems bizarre… There must be more to it, like Port getting our second back?

But from Port's perspective they'll be backing themselves to finish top 4 and as such have a pick 14-18. Including a raft of academy selections they could convince themselves that it will end up being the 20th best player in the 2016 draft.

Similar to Geelong giving a first rounder for Henderson, which some said was over. The Cats are backing themselves in for a big year. Including the academy selections they will be hoping that pick is only the 15th - 20th best player in the draft.

If port and GC have agreed, couldn't we just do this deal anyway?
I suppose we could actually. If we get pick 10 then Essendon would only need to deal with us.
Even if the Carlisle part doesn't eventuate we still have pick 10 and a future 1st
