If we could get 17 & 26 for Basti and give up some of the picks in the 30s/40s, we'd be huge winners.

Maybe:

North get 17 & 26
Collingwood get Aish and 40
Brisbane get Bastinac and 38

North lose 38, 40 & Bastinac
Collingwood lose 26
Brisbane lose 17 & Aish

BL lose big time in that. Nth and CM big winners.

I can see BL being screwed and CM winning but cant see us winning, not that big.

I will tell you makes me worry about that article, 17 players over age of 28 from next season. That is a concern.

But I'm all for a crap 2017 if these players could pull through for a remarkable premiership in 2016.

Aish would be nice, but we need some real run outside to break lines. Pick 17 should see us get this and more.

i dont think pick 17 will get us someone that we can use in the next 2 years..... our time is now....

Being in Oslo also means you don't see games live. Not suggesting you not learned on the game or our players, but you do get a different perspective watching live and I gotta say Basti is awful. Slow players can get away with it if they have elite skills and he has neither pace or skills. Him not being in the 22 makes us better no doubt. Swallow being in the team makes us better.

Ive seen every game (albeit not live)......I dont need to see Swallow live to say his kicking skills isn't up to scratch. Ive seen Bastinac pull out of contest yes, but I've seen Harvey, Dal Santo also do it too. Bastinac is the tradition mould of the old style rover....Im sorry you don t see that. And he does have skill.....if he didnt we would have wasted a 21 or 25 pick on him. He was a Co-Captain of an under 18 side.

Have you ever considered the thought that you're wrong with your opinion of Swallow. And that once the club makes a decision like Swallow being captain that they can't go back on this as its a sign of being wrong? They just go up to him and say hey Andrew we want you to step down? It normally doesnt happen.

Everyone has had an opinion about Jack taking over the captaincy or have you missed that?

Good luck to Brisbane who is in dire need to get players with 100 game experience into their team, and good luck to Ryan Bastinac to be open to the idea of getting the chance to play where he wants.
He gets an extra 2 years on to his football life.........time will tell on how he ends up at the end of his career.

is this a wishful assumption or is it speculation. Somehow I think we will get what we got for Greenwood.
Unless the club are intent on keeping Basti if we don't get what we want. Because they should, he is contracted unlike Greenwood, so trade wise should hold more currency.

If there's anything in that, Aish is either besotted with Collingwood or fancies his chances of being gifted games there ahead of at North (his Collingwood mate got in the seniors of a middle of the road team as soon as he was fit enough - his North mate is busting his arse to earn a spot in a team playing finals). Either way, no loss.
