I'd rather see us beat Geelong these days after Tosserfield walked out on us. I'm a Vic based Crow....Hawks at the G will be my first up game this year in round 2. Here's hoping we have a midfield by then!
What was odd was the opening post which was like someone who'd never read the board would post. Posts something like, I don't reckon Dmac is all that good, has anyone else noticed this. Then tells us he's been reading the board for 12 months, so is obviously fully aware on the general thoughts on that and every other one of the questions posed. Just don't know if it's a Port troll or an apologist trolling the agitators.
The opening post was tongue in cheek. I wouldn't be jumping on the guy just yet, although these hit-the-ground-running accounts are usually indicative of an alias.

For no reason as he works harder in games then anyone else. The so called jo the goose goals are because no one can compete with his pace and strength. Dmac looks unfortunately finished. Will become depth and play some games but not many. He trys hard but the skill set he has, is not good enough

I like JJ a lot...just wish he pulled a few more in with a big frame like that...he really should be able to intimidate his opponent....his attack on the ball is often a bit casual....having said that... He's perfect to have with Eddie lurking near by

I think it's incredible that someone like JJ can be so maligned, and it says more about the posters than it does about him. Runs on the board people.....
The guy has incredible aerobic capacity and pace for a someone his size. So he plays to his strengths....and it's not enough for some.
He is an absolute gun who would be a walk up start into every side in the AFL. FFS sake, the Hawks recruited Vickery. Would anyone outside an asylum even entertain trading Josh for Tyrone for more than a microsecond?
Could he be better? Absolutely. But he doesn't deserve to be maligned as much as he is on this forum? No way.
I would like him to use his size and pace to get to more contests and create more contested ball. We all would, and it's about him striving to be a better player. No matter how great you are, you need to keep working on being better.
So Josh. Just sayin' you rock, but keep improving. And don't listen to the nay sayers. I doubt you would read this, but people love and value what you do.
Um... I guess it just take a lot of gut running to avoid that much contact, to emerge that bruise free
Except in 2 out of every 3 games and finals

Not at all, smart running and class. The guy has kicked more goal then most the last few years. He is slowly getting better at contested marking. Ps the final was the match committees fault, not his as he couldn't run or jump

He looked very good last week for the Hawks
He did look ok. Hawks do have a good record with turning mediocre talls into decent ones
He'll be a good role player for the Hawks in Clarkos system, which doesn't rely on talls dominating. He'll be a 30-40 goal a year forward who provides a chop out in the ruck and gives them a contest in the forward line. Takes the pressure off Gunston and Roughead to an extent.
If we didn't have Jenkins, I'd be happy with Vickery in our forward line in the same role. Unfortunately at the Tigers for Vickery, it was Riewoldt or bust and he got exposed.
Sometimes they get it wrong, in that final, he couldn't jump and could only run at half pace. Was that his fault?
I do agree that he does have some poor games and can bad but overall, he would be top 5 in the AFL for kf and relief ruck
