I'm not sure that anyone has declared Matt Crouch to be elite. I've read a few posts saying he's going to be an elite ball winner. Can you dig up some quotes that have declared him to already be elite please.

No it doesn't. That would be hindsight bias. Can judge it ridiculous based on knowledge at the time of the decision, but not chance events afterwards.

And as players get older they are more likely to be injured, so yeah we took a risk.
