I am stunned by this board. Our future is offically dead now

Words fail me. I am utterly shocked. We are likely to have pick 5-8 next year, we have that away for pick 17 and 31 basically

We gave 9 away for 14 so as to pull 19 down to 17

There are no words

I am reading some of the most ridiculous nonsense here spinning this. Right on cue. We could trade pick 1 for picks 10, 11, 30 you would say its great. "3 picks inside top 30"

Also what scares me is by the time we challenge guys like Boak, Gray, Westhoff and Hartlett will be gone.
Hartlett will be here forever. Chris Davies will make sure of that.

Loving all the doom and gloom, it is apparently a fact that we will finish 11th or lower next year.

Based on the results of the trade period, it's understandable groupthink that we will slip next year.

As another has said, the biggest concern of this period was our failure to trade out some of the dead wood or stale players. However we have sort of attacked this another way in that we are going to draft a pile of fresh kids right in the sweet spot of the draft and do the clean out in reverse, back the kids to force them out of the side and out of the club.

So in summary we traded two top 10 picks for two picks in the mid teens and two picks in the 30s. How anyone can spin that as a win is absolutely beyond me.

We also failed to improve our list either by trading out under performers or by trading in fresh faces.

Just another chapter in a year of water treading and more evidence that our football department is akin to a team of zombies asleep at the wheel. God help us.

Exactly

Player Managers and List Managers from all other clubs must be lining up to del with us. Here, have a contract with us that no other club would even think about doing, here have our two top ten picks for your average stuff. Come deal with us we are the good guys of the AFL.

The only people that could be happy with this are the crew who think every draft pick nets you a winner.

Do you know what the sad thing is? we can't really laugh at the crows over Gibbs because our club didn't do much either. We really needed quality, was hoping we could've bought in someone like Deledio, Vardy or Black. Might be a mini or long rebuild for this club.

Also what scares me is by the time we challenge guys like Boak, Gray, Westhoff and Hartlett will be gone.

Something doesn't add up in this sentence.

Aren't you making a big assumption that we would have had pick 10 next year?

"We are likely to have pick 5-8 next year..."

You truly are boydman, aren't you. Have you ever had anything good to say about anything the club has ever done? From accusing the club of systematic doping to chronic mismanagement on all levels. Why don't you just microwave your membership if you hate the club so much?

And no, I'm not being delusional about the club's chances next year, but some of the stuff in this thread is just way over the top.

I get pick 9 but who is the other top 10 pick?

Next year's top 10 pick that we now miss out on in the likely event that we miss finals.

The fact is that quality > quantity when it comes to draft choices. Travis Boak was pick 5, Chad Wingard was pick 6, Ollie Wines was pick 7. That's where the vast majority of the cream of the draft crop comes from - the top 10. And what did we just do? We traded ourselves out of the top 10 and into the 15-30 range which is practically a lucky dip. We have totally bottled this.

Cannot wait until we draft at 14 and the brains trust tells us that is exactly who we wanted at 9.

Picks 9 through 13 (and specifically those 2) will be talked about for many years ala pick 16 Jercobs I feel.

thing is we miss out on finals next year i feel, pittard or trengove or the like will leave and we will have our top 10 pick again
Trengove is leaving why?
