Closest thing the Crows will get to Bryce.......

Break it down my friend

We had picks 9 and 19, and now have picks 14 and 17

This means that we gave away pick 9 for 14, so that we could upgrade 19 to 17

Yes, that is correct. We really did do that

While doing that we upgraded pick # forty shit to pick # thirty shit- which are irrelevant. Some clubs might not even pick that deep they are $2 shop lucky dip picks after 30

One of those picks, mmm like #19, we bought by giving them next years top 10 pick

Think it through Port 2004

Its called date rape, the sedative might wear off soon and the penny will drop
Get this through you head and break down if you are capable, we had one pick in the top 30 and now we have four. In a draft which is widely recognised as being particularly strong for midfielders. This gives us an opportunity to load up with 3 mids and a KP player as well. Make no mistake this is a masterstroke by Cripps and Davies and much better bringing in broken down hacks like Black and Vardy, as some on this board wanted.

My only issue with having a first round call immediately after them is if we thought the Dangerfield-Ebert thing was tiresome, best buckle up for the incessant narrative surrounding the two guys taken at #13/#14.

Well then lets nail the pick and make it hilarious from our point of view. :thumbsu:

Just curious......we had a group of players that we wanted to move on that either weren't wanted by other clubs and others that were desirable but are contracted and don't want to go. What exactly were our list managers meant to do?

At least we have taken a risk and have a shot at picking up 4 decent players rather than gambling on 1 star.
if we can draft players that are better than O'Shea and friends then surely it's worth the gamble?
Sure it's a risky move but I don't see a better way to make changes at the moment.

Having said that if we pick up the wrong players and finish in the bottom quarter of the ladder there should be some pretty nervous staff members.

Only 5 picks to Victorian clubs in the first 22. How many go-home factor trades to Victoria will come up from that lot?

Certainly a concern, but our strike rate is pretty good.

Oh sweet innocent Zorro.
I work from home. Most of the people I deal with for work are either interstate or overseas. The few ones I deal with in Adelaide are PAFC supporters (just a coincidence). I have almost zero contact with Crows supporters (the exception being parents at my daughter's school).

All I have to do is stay away from 5AA and the advertiser and I truly manage to isolate myself from the franchise.

All today's result tells me is we intend to turn over players by bringing in talent but contine to have plenty of list cloggers...ones who have proven they cannot play at afl level week in week out. Meh. Selections next year will be entertaining

Well we cant say that we arent heavily invested in this draft
One of our aims was the acquire high picks... well they did that.. and yes to do that you do have to sacrifice

trying to stay positive.. we have gone all in on the 2016 draft by grabbing 4 picks inside the first 31
I guess its now over to Geoff Parker to make this risk work for us

Lyons matters because they've lost one midfielder and failed to get another that they were targeting. And Lyons was always going like Bernie Vince was always going.
So far from 2016 to 2017 their midfield is minus Lyons and Scott Thompson a year older and required to do more not less. A pity they have pick 13 as they'll be super desperate now for best pure midfielder left.

My only issue with having a first round call immediately after them is if we thought the Dangerfield-Ebert thing was tiresome, best buckle up for the incessant narrative surrounding the two guys taken at #13/#14.
But they got gore for dangerfield. Wasnt that the second coming of Jesus?

So I assume we take 4 picks into the draft? How does that leave the list in terms of need to delist players?
I think we need to delist one more player. Who do we have out of contract apart of O'Shea and Stewart?

We did NOT trade two top ten picks. We traded one top ten pick and a theoretical and conditional top ten pick.

The part im more annoyed with is the continual trading of future and first round picks and it not paying off.

In the past few years we have given away to much with our trading of first round and future picks and the reward being to little. It has resulted in us only have 1 pick in the top 40 this year and finishing outside the top 8 two years in a row.

Our selections this year are good on face value, but if we have another poor year (fingers crossed we dont) it wont appear to be good this time next year

Im surprised at the negativity....well not really.

I think we've made the best of a shit situation.

A shit situation this regime caused and has mortgaged next year's first in an attempt at alleviation.

Forgive us if some of us aren't enthused, McWisbey.
