Well SPS seems to be the fan favorite but English seems to be the most straightforward choice.

Also I doubt WC will have a chance at SPS do to the people with picks before you (NM and GC) and English just doesn't make sense (He'll take a few years to get profit out of and by then nic nat will be back).

Personally I'd prefer SPS.
Agree SPS wont be available at our pick.

My opinion for what its worth is ruckman are better traded than drafted, I see that as your need. I want Logue at our first, hope he slides to us

Well, I don't know too many good ruckman that have gone high in the draft (with the exception of Nic Nat (I just died a little inside for admitting that)). So I think it'll be better to attempt to get a ruck with one of the later picks. We might also still keep Zac Clarke who has shown potential and would be a lot better if he could just stay healthy.

Also I think Sydney (pick 9) are pretty keen on Logue so I wouldn't fancy the chances of them passing on him. The Sydney board definitely is.

Zac Clarke is an enigma, has a heap of talent, but something is holding him back, be it knees or attitude im not sure. There's a few mature age ruckmen available so I expect Freo to take best available at draft time, i hope sps slides to you giys would love to see him stay in wa

Name a decent ruckman you can get for peanuts? And you have to convince them to come to WA.

I expect thar English is high up on our draft chart as he is the best ruckman to come of WA since Nic Nat.

I think it depends on how you define "decent ruckman". Clubs aren't going to give up their #1 ruck so you go after their second ruck who wants to be first. A lot of them don't cost that much...

This year (2016): Witts cost GCS #44 and #62. Nankervis cost Richmond #46. Vardy cost WCE #72.
Last year (2015): Sinclair cost Sydney Jetta. Zac Smith cost Geelong #49 & #53. Giles cost WCE #57 (-#62). Luenberger cost Essendon nothing (FA). Simpson cost GWS nothing (FA). Gorringe cost Carlton nothing (FA).
2014: Stanley cost Geelong #21 (-#60). Giles cost Essendon #53 (-#62).

Depending on how Clarke goes next year, I think we could look at Naismith as he'd probably be behind Tippett and Sinclair and comes out of contract next year. There are others as well.

I hope postie don't go all over english if freo pick him. Yes is not ideal choice for most of us but give the kid some space and time to improve. I like to think english is not a pure ruckmen but an extra mid on the field who has the potential to be a good ruckmen.

I liked the look of Nankervis, saw him play for Sydney reserves quite a bit this year, and he did well last year. Same draft as Apeness, Pearce and McCarthy if I remember correctly. I reckon Richmond did well well with that one. Bit of a moneyball pickup.

Just can't see picking english at 7 will work .

Peel will definitely got griffin /apeness or griffin / clarke combo in 2017 line up with either clarke or apeness miss out for freo best 22 for team balance . This not yet include new draftee one or two ruckmen add to the list playing peel senior or reserve.

I'm sorry, are you saying we can't draft English because it will disturb the balance of the Peel side?

Just watched the entire U18's WA v Vic Metro game and I'm right back on the WA draftee bandwagon. Hoping we pick up a gun mid at seven and then one of Strnadica, Rotham or Fisher with 35 or 40.

Kind of, but with Sandi Mark II, I'd be prepared to sacrifice the dominance in hit outs with competitiveness in the ruck but more mobility, more contested marking and more goals when resting up forward.
So Todd Marshall then?

Wrong , he will had less chance to develop because peel priority is to win game as premier , therefore griff will always be the main ruckmen for them. Peel is good for young draftee to develop their skill , you can have few kpd ,mid , kpf around . How many years you watch afl ,wafl game having three ruckmen running around in the same team? If that is the case Hannath would play in GF. Apeness also not rucking in GF but play as forward only. Does not matter is freo or other team (afl, wafl, snafl, neafl), putting too many ruckmen in a team will always get the accusations as tanking or stupidity of a coach.

* You can always do that in your fantasy squad. I think they also limited to two ruckmen .

And trying to convince Naismith or Smith to come to WA? You have been watching how diffivult it has been to trade in anon WA native KPP.......

The rest are worse than Clarke.

A decent ruck like Hickey would cost a first rounder anyway.

I'ld hope Griffin gets played as a fwd for Peel next year and whoever we draft as the young project ruck gets the ruck/fwd with Clarke as main ruck for Peel. Griffin can be the "break in case of an emergency" ruck.

Freo: Sandi (R), Apeness (Fwd/R)
Next in line (Peel pos): Clarke (R), Young ruck (Fwd/R), Griffin (Fwd)

I really hope freo manage sandi game time with less travelling . Clarke should step in as main ruck when the team traveling. Will be a waste to signed clarke two to three year to play peel.

So I'm pretty sure Stanley is out of contract this year (according to footywire), but those AFL articles that list who's been delisted and who's not yet re-signed never mention him. Zac Clarke gets mentioned but not Stanley. Where's our Stanley? #ourstanley

Sign him for 2-3 years. Give him half a year or the full season to get his knees right and let him concentrate on that, and only on that aka Bennell, Fyfe, Balic, MJ.

Sandi can play every week so long as he doesn't get broken ribs again. Get Clarke ready for our next proper flag tilt in 2-3 years. Next year build Apeness tank and tap work with 25% ruck time. 2018 manage Sandi and bleed Clarke back in like you suggest

That is our dream , i doubt clarke will be happy spending time with peel watching apeness play for freo.

I doubt Clarke would be happy to give pea hearted effort because his knees are sticky taped together either :p

The ruck role is his for the taking in 2018+ assuming (a) Sandi isn't Benjamin button (b) he gets his knees right (c) we don't draft/trade/FA someone better

I am not allow to call him that , but you can:D.
Clarke ability> nit nat (when he injured)

Riiggggght. So I suppose then you support drafting no ruckman then, not just English. Since they can't develop properly. Right?

Or maybe they would play them anyway because they don't really give two shits how Peel do other than how it benefits us.

Stop talking piffle.

I'm dead against selecting English but if we do I'll support him from the second he's drafted, chuck those purple glasses on and trust the cobblers.
