Surely Motlop is more likely than Rockliff?

Annoying that we couldn't make it worth through the Danger deal but he seems like the perfect fit for our needs (when on song). Geelong supposedly want to get rid of him, so shouldn't cost an arm and a leg (maybe just the arm).

Sure he has family ties to SA too? Someone playing SANFL? That'll do.

The Lions gave Aish an off-season training program last year and he didn't stick around.

He's the very definition of X-factor. Do we have enough of that? My biggest worry is the lack of professionalism demonstrated by his off-season extreme ballooning last year (and I don't mean the hot-air variety).

With talk of CEY, Hendo, Thommo, Lyons and Grigg going, I heard today that Dear has requested a trade?????
Why is it every year we wait till the end of the season before we sign people up?

Hardly an Exodus.

Thommo to retire (expected from 33+ yr old). Other than that, Lyons is the only one in our starting 22. CEY, Hendo & Grigg are borderline delist worthy - if we can't flog them off to some other club.

We signed our most important players first (like every other club does) eg. Jenkins, B.Crouch, Atkins, McGovern, Smith, Talia all signed up this year.
Then you work out how much is in your war chest to go after new talent in the trade period. Then you re-sign your scrubs after that.

Honestly, i'm most excited by Greenwood, simply because he has a dramatic change to our midfield look .....192cm and 90 kg's ....that's a big midfielder!
Great hands ..real thinker, i liked how he was looking to get little kicks out into the open on the weekend, rather than handball in close ......good high mark, which you know i like

I am happy then to just sit and wait for Jake Stringer

If Geelong are going after Deledio or another big ticket player, then I'd be sniffing around the likes of Caddy, Duncan and Guthrie.

All are in that 24-25 y.o. 100 game bracket and would be in our starting midfield rotation.

Not sure Caddy would move again , especially after Geelong chased him. I like Guthrie. But so do Geelong. I like your thinking

I wouldn't, he's soft and can get verbaled out of playing well.

At 31, and unlikely to play more than 18 games a season he's not ideal. Bloody good player when he's on though.
