Remember last trade period. On the last day SOS just went bang and showed us he is no mug at this.
The media have been talking up pick 5 for Marchbank, but this is so far off the mark even with Pickett it just shows how little they actually know.
SOS has played the Gibbs situation really well IMO, he is trying to make sure we are extremely well compensated.
If he can pull two 1st rounders for Gibbs it really helps kick start our rebuild.

Agreed. Final day is where SOS will come through.

No one expected the swap of Geelongs future 1st rounder with GWS, or the upgrade of two 2nds for the bulldog's 1st.

Can't wait to see what he's brewing.

Elite and Potenial elite talent under 23yo
Cripps
Docherty
Weitering
Plowman
Marchbank
Sumner
McKay
Curnow
Cuningham
Silvagni
Pickett
Plus hopefully a group of 3/4 draftees taken in the top 25 this year. Really need to add a elite young mid or two.
But just 12 months into a rebuild we seem to be tracking quite well, SOS is really trying to make this trade period count as we won't have much more in the way of currency next year.

You know what?

That doesn't actually look so bad.

Like you said, hit the draft hard, get some good talent and we're on our way.

I don't want these GWS cast off's for first rounders, particularly given what has transpired with Steele and the like. I see SOS doing due diligence to ensure the rebuild journey is not derailed by impulsive decisions. Kudos to him and the club. At the end of the day, Gibbs is a gun send contracted, 5 brings us a nice mid and we see what we grab via the draft or trades with later picks. Trust the process...

I can't believe we will need to trade pick 13 for Marchbank. We are getting screwed. Ahern got to north for 69???? That's what we should give for Pickett and a second round selection is ample for Marchbank. This could turn out to be a disaster trade period and set us back another 2 years. Gibbs for Marchbank??
We have no midfield.
Crows sniff a flag,Gibbs sniffs a flag....if his on a 3 yr contract which i remember was also a drama he should just stick to it.
ps if Crows wont allow a good mid our direction,i agree demand next years first or probably second...and we shop for mids again and get our 3 or so from GWS.

It's not that at all. The older players that are leaving Hawthorn are going to teams that are much closer to a flag or at least playing finals then we currently are.
If you are 30yo+, you don't go to a club that is 12 months into a full rebuild.
We need to build our own team with Bolton and SOS, not take whatever scraps we can get from Hawthorn.

And where did I say we should take scraps?

You should keep reading...it's funny how he calls out sos to get his act together then proceeds to propose outrageously bad trades
Haha I bet.

I have to admit, if the trade scenarios that people write are any more than like... 2 lines or so, I completely skip over it. Too many permutations, too many suggestions, and too complex for me to try deciphering, let alone remembering for later. But the effort is impressive.

Andrew Mc Kay looked upset on his interview on Gibbs.Crows must have lead him astray and should offer something for all the stress its caused,we dont owe them at all.Interesting they wont allow any of their promising young mids etc......nasty.
Its actually all pretty rude, good old carlton will give out its last elite for nothing....
Maybe this puppet parade reflects on Gibbs true attitude to the Blues.

We add another 3/4 high end talents to that group of 11 players and we have the base foundation of around 15 young players who are young elite talents.
Headline by some who are potentially the best in there position.
With Weitering Plowman and Marchbank we have the 3 highest rated key defenders from the last 3 drafts.
Docherty looks to be an elite level HBFer, making our backline even more formidable.
Cripps is already one of the most dominant contested ball player in the AFL.
Charlie Curnow and Jack Silvagni showed some great sighs up forward for us.
With pick 5 we could add Anisworth SPS Taranto or Brodie and if we keep pick 13 SOS may hope for someone like Scrimshaw to slide or may even look at Marshall or Battle for even more fire power up forward.

What was the interview on?

Any room for Gower's and DVR in 2017 ?
Gowers looks a good chance for a 3rd rookie year, DVR could get spared if he's luck, and has started his own off-season program for anaerobic and aerobic fitness.

Steele is the worst possible example to point at if you want the trade to be less than a first rounder.

Liking the sound of this, Jimmy Boy.......:thumbsu:
