I'd call Stringer a forward. i think he would be the prototype for the new generation forward, kicks lots of goals but can also push up and play in the midfield when needed. He would still be the doggies best forward by a country mile

Sure is.

I'd be drooling at the prospect of seeing him in the guts alongside Cripps.
Jake Stringer played almost all his footy as a Junior as Midfielder (his junior stats were ridiculous like 30 touches and 5 goal games), he was only moved forward after he broke his leg and didnt have the fitness to play midfield. However its turned out hes become a darn good Forward and will most likely stay there with stints in the midfield.

It's far too old school to think players have to be put in one particular pigeon-hole and be just one thing.

Jake Stringer is a beast. Anywhere forward of the halfback line he's a weapon, and we all know it. I'd play him 70% inside 50, with short bursts in the middle. Maybe over time it could move to a more even split, but whilst he's kicking 50 odd goals, it's working.

Well said and correct.

Stringer, who has taken his running power to a new level over summer, also pushed into the centre-square regularly in a sign he could develop into one of the Bulldogs’ most damaging on-ball weapons. Bulldogs assistant coach Rohan Smith said Stringer would spend more time in the club’s midfield brigade in 2016.

“He (Stringer) is a special player, there is no doubt about that,” Smith said. “He’s progressing into a powerful midfielder that can kick goals,” Smith said.

The Sheik and ridiculous height requirements should be a square on Carlton Big Footy Bingo. Along with Thy's "the teams ffs", Aph's "EFA", MEB defending DylBucks, Cringle loves Matthew Watson jokes and ferrisb's dad jokes

Jake Stringer is a freaking full forward or a centre half forward

He has kicked 40+ as a lead up forward... jeez im not getting involved in this ludicrous height discussion again.
Bunch of blokes squabbling over the significance of a few centimetres. Leave it to the women - they know.

Dad jokes?

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Why didn't we offer Jarrad Waite a two year contract, that's all he wanted. Now he's playing for North in the best form he's ever been??? Could have been invaluable in teaching our forwards their craft. Charlie would surely have benefitted. Why,Why,Why?

It seems Norths medical staff have been able to consistently get him on the track, something he could never do with us. While i agree we should have offered him 2, it was a calculated risk at the time. Unfortunately for us hes playing the best footy of his career, and being the player we all thought he would be if he realised his potential. Its just a shame it is when hes 33 and playing for another club. He looks like he could go on for another few years, hasnt lost that spring in his step at all.

Angus Brayshaw squeezed out of the Demons team for Petracca, any chance Brayshaw might be looking for a guaranteed spot in the midfield.

Surely we could package Casboult or kreuzer up in fancy gift wrapping and flog one off to the Dogs for a second rounder and a half decent mid?

Their talls are useless.
