I also went to the GWS v Dee's game and was about to post exactly the same about Tomlinson.

Cannot understand why we would be so keen on him.

watched that game , first time i seen Tomlinson play, i thought he was decent player , found space all the time , is good contested mark , GWS mids seem to use him as a release player and not even look at him when he right in front of goal 30 metre out all alone, for mine the GWS mids are to selfish and that where they lost that game..

Any news on Jack Sos younger brother I think he 1-2 year younger

Ben is playing U16 for Greythorn. First game of the season is 1st April. Ben kicked 50 goals last year.

Tom will be playing U14 for Greythorn.

Two will be punted, one will be retained.

Wood has already gone. Just playing out the year.

Sheehan is up against it. If he could get fit, he has a shot at it still as he does offer something.

Byrne will be the keeper.
Considering he is fit and is the nominated rookie, that's a fair bet.

If Sheehan gets back to 2013 form, he will too. Big if.

Sheehan won't kick on, he has reached his zenith. Besides, he has some flaws in his technique that will take a while to rectify. SOS would rather draft a 'natural' player who was brought up on the game.

Sometimes you just can't keep sitting on the fence.

Low hanging fruit though. Rookie injured for a year. Injured again in his last rookie year.

It's not exactly taking a stand to predict his demise.

The point is that he offers something if fit or he wouldn't have received a 3rd year after missing hos second year.

Balance of probabilities suggests he has to recover, play several great VFL games, hope for an LTI, then hope that someone of his type loses form .... all in time for him to come in and impress again, all over the next 21 games. That is very unlikely but is not necessarily anything to do with his ability.

A longer but more accurate version of what I said......

We are in Year 1 of the "Reset/Rebuild", there will be a lot more casualties at the end of the year. Bolton & Silvagni have shown thus far they are not into project players or exotics, they will be playing it very safe for the forseeable future as they clean-up the mess they inherited.

No need for semantics, seems like you came back from the D-Word too quick.
There's always a need for semantics. It's the difference between getting something right or wrong.

Fact =/= Opinion.

That's it... it's going in my sig. Look what you made me do.

Let's revisit these facts.

I know where we are at, however they haven't shown what you think they have.

McKay does not have a huge junior resume. He is mostly rated on his athleticism and potential. Cuningham was a bolter before the draft and considered a reach.

If you are going to consider their respective junior glimpses, then you will consider what Sheehan showed when he did get called up. That wasn't exotic or project play.

If Sheehan is just an exotic, then why aren't Byrne or Tuohy? Then ask the question why Bolton or SOS didn't cut him if he is just an exotic notion. They cut Walsh from the rookie list and he was a footballer. Neither has been at the club to watch Sheehan play.

No, if he is cut it will be because of injuries and age in that it isn't worth holding a player who has barely played when they can't get on the park and only have 5 years left anyway.

What have they got to do with the price of fish in China ?? Irrelevant to the issue, they are part of the bigger picture.

When I use the term "exotic", I'm referring to players from non-traditional Aussie Rules backgrounds, we had that Fraser Russell bloke also in that category. There is a much lower probability of them becoming genuine players due to not being exposed to it so early.

Sheehan is No. 3 in the Irish pecking order and is hardly getting on the park, he will be moved on in the club's pursuit of building a playing list of depth & talent. We don't know the actual answer to this but who knows if Sheehan would of survived if SOS was able to find another suitable trade, free agent or trade to take his place, it may have been just circumstance that save his bacon (or potato).

Walsh was deemed too slow when the clear message was they wanted to bring in players with genuine leg speed.
