Interesting that Billy or Pierce are being thrown up and big John Holmes isn't.

Is that more to do with faith in holmsey making it or a reflection of the respective trade values of the 3? I assume it's the latter?

Pretty simple. Holmes is not good enough to be anything more than a ruck that gets played when others are injured.

Whereas both Longer and Pierce will be AFL players. Longer has already shown that he is good enough, though 2016 was a wipe out with his shoulder operation and concussion.

So they get pick 1 this year, I'd hardly say they've cleaned up.
You look at their list, and it's hard to see them improving to the point of contention, even with the inclusion of Heppell, Hurley and Hooker. The rest of the returning cheats are either past it, or GOPs at best who in reality may have their spot taken by someone who put their hand up this year.
The only bombers players I'd have on our list as it stands:
Hurley
Heppell
Hooker
Parish
Francis
Zac Merrett
Daniher
Goddard (Maybe)

The rest of their list is putrid. Thankfully, they're still in for a few years of pain.

I hate Essendon as much as the next rational person but that's a bit unfair. Fantasia showed a lot this year. McDonald-Tingwuiti (sp?) is a legend. Zaharakis goes alright.

is this before or after JOM?
You mean arguably (alongside hunter) the most improved mid accumulator in the comp and a previous top 3 talent? Yeah get in line with every other club who want them haha
Who could blame JOM? He can move to a club, get paid a fortune and belt blokes in the face and never get reported for it!

Pretty sure Billings folks are Essendon Coteries and as for Ross, well we all know where his loyalties/family ties lie.

Actually, the only player we haven't resigned is Hibberd. You should be in awe of EFC's prowess.

Plus, 16 > 1, so there's that...
Lol can you leave already?

Correct. It cost 350k a year! And it doesn't even ******* do anything!!!!

doesnt do anything, sounds like essendon to a tee. when was the last final, I cant even remember...

so whats the penalty going to be this time around? another finals series? a couple more million? what club hero is going to be tarnished forever? is doc reid still there?

Really looking forward to when we target Jack Billings and Seb Ross

Hahahahaha! Oh buddy... You cant afford one of them, let alone both! Especially now that your 10 old men are back and you managed to survive this scare... your club will be lucky if you can afford one of Jobe's specialty latte's...

Yeah anyone can be a corrupt pack of *****.......It's not a valued trait. The AFL have had to change your nappies for you after you put yourselves in the shit.

So has Laverde actually agreed to the Dons deal? Or they've agreed on terms or what?
dodoro does his work in the media once again and everyone erupts.

thats the summary

amazingly poor work from essendon not being able to be the ones to break the news instead having to throw out rumours to the AFL

God this is embarrassing as a neutral.

You guys have spent all week saying "oh we're going to **** the Bombers" and "oh can't wait for the reaction when we get Laverde" and no he re-signs it's all "thank god we pushed the price up" and "**** essendon, he's not even that good"

FOur year old behaviour, you wanted him and didn't get him. No need to take it out on Dons fans.

I like how you made sure you told everyone you're a neutral before trolling.

I don't agree.
Hamil was a big trade.
Gehrig.
Fergus Watts was the Tom Boyd of the day.
We just stopped for a while when our cap maxed out.
Oh and Andrew Lovett??

Big trades arent always good trades, and you can't do them year after year.
Little trades like Schnieder/Dempster, Gardiner, king, Bruce, can be just as good if not better.

Fair call. I'm still scarred from the 80s :(
