Normally, the Cloke thing would give me the sh1ts.

But Ty is gone, and our KP stocks are threadbare. IF, I repeat IF, the club drafts KP stocks with an eye to 2 years down the track, then MAYBE if we got him for free, I could live with it (not really like it). But you would have to see a clear vision from the FD that there is a development plan. Not holding my breath

If Vickery is gone and with McBean's slow development, we have Elton (untried) and Griffiths. It appears McBean is either leaving or won't make the grade. If Griffiths is going to be our second ruck, we have Jack and no other key position player. Cloke appears to be insurance in case we don't trade for a developed key forward, or draft a young key forward. I don't have an issue if colonwood pay some of his contract and it it for a very late draft pick that we would not be using anyway.

Just highlights how much KPP talent went to GWS & GCS. Maybe the slow development of Key Forwards or poor recruiting is back to bite us on the bum.

i actually don't mind the cloke option. i think structually it will help us considering TV is leaving.

we all agree that Jack needs to play deep inside 50, and he currently cant do that because TV is a lazy player who wont work up the ground and doesnt provide us anything outside of the 50m arc.

Cloke on the other hand works well between the arcs, is a great marking option for transition out of defence, will draw a good defender freeing up Jack or a lesser defender allowing himself to get it more, all while leaving Jack inside 50 where he is most dangerous.

that alone could get us an extra 10-15 goals a year just by being able to leave Jack where he plays his best football.

id be putting JR and Lids in the forward 50 with Lloyd / Rioli / Yarran at their feet and let the magic happen.

Cloke to Tigs fine by me. Morro reasoning is the same as my own.

But it will come down to what it costs us trade wise, and contract wise if we also extend his deal.

Little money for 3 years... I can handle that. Give a good deal of time for guys like Chol and C.Moore to develop and see if they can make it.

Think a guy who can repeatedly impact aerial contests inside forward 50 is exactly what we need

I just hope they draft a young KPF at the same time. No point getting Cloke and not having someone developing behind him or we have same issue in 2 years.
I think if we want to recruit another quality young forward it's going to have to be either by a high draft pick or trade

Im all for cloke if its a straight swap of players, such as Batchelor. I would be against us using any draft picks to get him, id rather take a 4th round pick to the draft and get an 18 year old in, then using it on Cloke.

I think he would be a good addition to our fwd line.

Deledio Cloke Edwards/Houli
Rioli Riewoldt Llyod/Lennon

Cloke for Batchelor I would do.
Maybe chuck a 3rd rounder our way or a swap of 3rd rounders
We dont need batch with markov, short, yarran and houli back. batch just doesnt get it enough

Vickery will be a star at the hawks. His best for us was very very good.

They'll get the best outta him for sure
His best for us was 2011 wasn't it. Then he hurt his shoulder and decided it was easier to get cheapies out the back.

Collingwood back loaded Cloke's contract he is on close t a million next season

If we took him it would only relieve a little of that cap pressure ( we pay 300 Collingwood pay 700)

Even if he plays VFL the whole year it means we get him for the cost of a first year player and leave Collingwood with enough cap problems to restrict their ability to trade

That's a win

I think it was the other way around, he final year was heavily KPI loaded and he wont make those indicators, so he will be back to about 400k next year.
