Head to the draft with: 6 7 42 & 62.

Deledio interested in Geelong, they need to make room for him and Touhy, so Motlop moves and with the Roos now flush with cap room Motlop would fit nicely. Suns want a first round pick for Prestia and we don't want to give up pick 6 so float 11 26 & a player like Lennon for Prestia and 22 & 23. Then comes the creative bit. GWS currently have 5170 points worth of picks in their hands, so offer them 22 & 23 for their pick 7 with the proviso that we won't bid on an academy kid with either 6 or 7. Lets not forget that the Giants are likely to get the Blues pick 5 as they send their NEAFL side to Visy Park so they'll likely get their hands on the kid they want anyway.

For those looking at the points value of the above scenarios.
11 & 26 = 2058 to 22 & 23 = 1660. So Lennon and and 398 points equates to Prestias value.

22 & 23 = 1660 to pick 7 =1644 so the Giants actually improve their points total.

With picks 6 & 7 we could add both Brodie and Taranto, losing Deledio at the end of his career and Lennon who just hasn't come on for a couple of potential 10-12 year types and Prestia who can play for another 7-10 years also really rejuvenates the list moving forward.

YES. If Richmond does this and pick up Brodie and Taranto, then it would be a great offseason, especially for our midfield. Would lose Deledio and gain Prestia, Taranto and Brodie.

Of course, that is if they live up to their hype.

It's incorrect, his 5 year deal was worth around 3 mil. We would have front loaded his contract not back loaded it. Would be closer to 400k.

Not sure how North are getting ripped though. Motlop is walk up best 22 for them who helps cover the loses of Boomer & Wells as a goal kicking midfielder.

I hope GWS put their hat in the ring for Lids. Serisouly the missing link to that side. Lids rotating from HB to HF would seriously imrpove their chances at a flag.

GWS can pay overs and wouldnt hurt them one bit. They have 2 picks in the mid to late teens take either both of them or 1 and Ahern. Ahern won't play next season but let him get right and we will see the benefits of him in 2018

They weren't being sort by Geelong and Geelong aren't even sure how they would fit them in given this sort of planning is done 2 years out. Did say it was nice to know Geelong was a destination club.

why would he ask his manager specifically to speak to the Cats for a trade if he 'doesn't necessarily wants out?
Cats will have difficulties financially fitting within the salary cap and ensuring Lids is appropriately remunerated

I keep seeing flashes on that game early on in the season when Lids is on the bench and a player (cant remember who -Jack - Ty - Griff?)was running hot - slotting a couple of goals late in a tight game was suddenly benched (out of routine)...Lids was going apeshot

I wonder why the cats were so specific about the fact that Lids and his management approached them? Put pressure on the Tiges to do the deal? Hard for Lids to come back to the club now with that info in the public domain.
