I want to make people aware with hypothetical trades regarding Brisbane picks, that with Port Adelaide's loss last night, Brisbane now have Pick 12 in lieu of 14. 1, 12 & 18 in the first round.

Port swapped their first this year for some early picks last year. Brisbane ended up with it.

And Pick 18 is technically the first pick of the second round.

Still a very early pick though.

Was speaking to a Lions supporter last night who told me the same thing - I had no idea. Thought the draft order was finalised at the end of the H&A season.

Giants traded up to get pick 2 and then after developing him for 4 years will not take pick 2 in a much inferior draft.

If we want him 7 and 8 will do and hopefully get our second rounder back.

Eh, it's pretty rare that teams get what they paid in regards to where a player was drafted, especially early picks. Kelly is uncontracted too. Although that means less than it used to.

Unless of course said player is a superstar. Which Kelly is certainly on the way to.

Stated that Beveridge is basically at a pub most nights,when no football duties,and as well mentioned that Stringer was as popular as a Fart in a Spacesuit,plus some other minor discretions affecting the club,which some have been spoken about on this thread,when we learnt Stringer was available.
Also an interesting article on there from past few days,re Carlton keen to get a first rd pick for Gibbs,that could help them get Kelly,Stringer or Lever

Is Kelly going to the Saints? If so that might complicate things a bit with regards to trading. Lions have pick 1 and I highly doubt we will be trading that out unless it's for a god father offer. Suns will be more tempted to trade it pick 2 out as they want as much quality into the list but they want two first rounder in return. If Kelly wants to go to the Saints than I think a 3 club trade might be needed to make it happen. Giants wouldn't want multiple first rounders they would probably want the cream of the draft due to list spaces available.

Yeah you might be right, I had mail a while ago the saints picks could be going to Gold Coast.
I said they'd be going to either expansion team. Maybe which one depends on Kelly decision.

Disappointing this; no Martin, potentially no Kelly... Stringer is not the membership draw card we were hoping for...

There is talent in the top 15 of the draft though, and we're going twice.
