I'm not buying this Stringer off-field issues talk. The guy has two kids that sounds like he has to look after by himself.
I just can't even fathom that he would expose that type of lifestyle to his own children.

Stringer reminds me of Stevie J when he was young, needs a strong leadership group around him to stop him going off the rails.Geelong were able to manage it with the likes of Hurley, Ling etc.. Our leadership group is strong and could probably pull him into line, but after the Yarran debacle we'd have to be gun shy.

It just hit me reading this, I do consider our leadership to be strong all of a sudden. It was weak for years, now almost overnight we're actually elite in this area.

I can guarantee you schache is not leaving. Its a big juicy media beat up with all the kids leaving brisbane in the past, and bevause hes a number 2 pick, like I said he packed up his belongings because he's come home for 8 weeks and his lease runs out at the end if the year.

Like I said, there is a shit ton of noise from recruiters who believe he is tradeable. Normally when its this amount of noise, there is something. I spoke to my mate this arvo and he believes the noise is more that the lions will trade him if the right offer comes around and Schache and his manager is fully aware of it. I'm like you, my gut was that the ship has sailed but now im not so sure.

Also on Motlop, will not happen, he will not be a tiger.

I think they're a bit crazy down at the Cattery. Longeron and Mackey are their 2 best defenders and both retiring. I don't see too many other guns in the wings there. Taylor looks just about finished.

Looks like they'll go for broke while Danger is there. Maybe they promised him they will go all out for a flag.

if they trade any of next years picks then you know they're officially crazy.

I think it'll end in tears personally.

I'm of the opinion that it will be a crap trade period this year. Not many options out there at the moment and unless some more contracted players come out and ask for a trade then this trade period will be boring. I think we were a bit spoiled last year lol.

The other first will be needed to match a Naish bid, and if no one bids before our first hopefully we can find ourselves a late 20s early 30s pick, and then we'll be able to use our first and get Naish.

If you could land Schache, Naish & Balta, plus 3 other draftees between pick 30-60, that would be a good trade period.

I don't get why people think stringer is on any kind of drugs. It seems like he has other mental issues due to his marriage and the jj stuff. He has two young kids and doesn't seem like the type to go too hard off the field. If they are trading him because of partying then they should be trading libba too.. its no secret he likes a few drinks and some pills. Stringer seems to be dealing with some personal stuff off of the field with his family/wife which unfortunately happened at the same time as he was already battling confidence issues. I actually think we should take a chance on him. Get that same psychologist who has helped dusty working with him and a new environment and he can be back to how he was a few years ago. He would have a new spark and be out to prove himself again. I also think our game plan suits stringer better than the dogs and in our forward line he wouldn't be the main danger so he would end up taking weaker defenders than at the dogs where he was the main threat a lot of the time. Idk how much money he would want but I think we could get massive value trading for him. Also, imagine the don't argues with him and dusty playing together.
