I'll be very disappointed if we get beaten by the obvious and what we already should know.

No long bombs inside 50 and defensive press need to not press up as high and hold a few players back deeper.

Richmond run and teams with handball so coralling will be important and not over commiting and letting them handball over the top.

The amount of goals they got last time by handballs over the top into the goal square was embarrassing.

If you're a Richmond supporter, the only thing in footy you could ever be completely confident of is failure.

My Tughead mates are showing lots of bravado but I've known them long enough to see through it. They HATE the fact I'm confident......they can't stand it. Love it.

Cegs for Shoe - Cegs is capable of running round in circles and doing nothing or what ever Shoe supporters label his role AND he can take big marks, kick goals and help Biggy Boy grind Nank the Wank into the MCG turf - and put his knee through Grigg on every Occassion. Will be invaluable in the second half when everyone is tiring. Helps keep Flopper Rance second guessing too......

Chip for Home Brand - just how it looks.

Howe - hope so. Goes to either Cothchin or Dusty. Probably Dusty as Twents Mrs might get upset if it's him. Big body, hit in hard. No idea who makes way for him.

It's finals, it's a different game. They are Richmond, we are not.

And PLEASE no Rectum Ray umpiring - anyone butt him...

Anyone have a decent update on Sicily ?
Been told by 2 different people in the last day he is at best 50/50 to actually play.
I’m not sure how reliable that is if it is at all

Sicily told me on Saturday that he was a certainty to play, so hopefully he wasn't lying.

I’d love Sicily to drift forward and kick a few big goals. If he can be instrumental in a hawks victory it’ll really get on the opposition supporters’ nerves.
Shoòooo... You just revealed Clarko's little surprise this weekend. Our backline was holding well the last 6 weeks without him even against "form teams" like Cats, Essn, and Swans. So don't be surprised if he is used in the HF for his 60m bomb kicks. I have no problem with that.

This won’t be the first time that Hawthorn stop a team from going back to back. :)
My reading is if we beat them this week we will not have them for GF. They will be long gone by the time we reach GF. This is my reading. So no need to hold back any tricks and should go all out against them this Thursday.

I've been told the following players are being considered for Thursdays match: Ceglar, Frawley, Sicily and Howe. Good 'problem' to have in my view...
with two guaranteed to come in
You'd think we are going Miles and Brand out, Frawley and Sicily in.

Then it gets murky, if they want Howe in to tag is that at the expense of Mirra?

If Cegs comes in does that mean Nash goes out?

I've really got not clue what we are going to end up looking like when the teams are announced

Richmond create space behind the play to open up their F50 and then outrun and outnumber their opponents on a charge to goal.

Sicily... despite his elite talents... has struggled at times playing the last anchor in defence. Stratton or Hardwick are better.

In general play, I expect Sicily to play high in defence and we will see him on the wing. If I was the Tigers I would try and get Sicily on the last line.

I don't know how Clarkson does not go insane solving problems.

If I was selecting, with my limited knowledge, i'd:

- Bring in Frawley for Brand;
- Bring in Sicily for Miles; and
- Bring in Cegs for Mirra.

The key part is bringing in Sicily for Miles. It makes us look tall, as Sic plays taller than he is, but I think Sic will play more of a flanker role, cutting off marks but using his elite kicking. Cegs as a ruck/forward (Mirra spent a fair bit of time forward last week), allowing Jack to spent a little more time back.

I wouldn't be rushing to keep Nash for Schoey at this stage. I feel like schoey impacts more contests at the moment (from the couple of times i've watched Nash), but when Nash impacts a contest he IMPACTS a contest. So, i'd prefer to keep them both. This is the only way I see of doing it, and adding Cegs to exploit Richmond's ruck.

I don't think Howe can play. Given how much of BHH he played I don't think he can keep up with Martin for the whole match, and he's not a good match when he goes forward either.

Merely cogitating aloud as to the possibilities should Mr Hardwick indeed pull some moves on Mr Clarkson.

One may find mirth in such rumination, one may find offence. If it is the later, just make sure you do not become impaled.
I had to re-read some of the words, look them up, try not to laugh at how I sounded as I read in my head and then find examples of usage. By the end my journey ended up on YouTube watching a skit from Monty Python.
