I've rarely questioned team selection this year, the few times I have it's centred around TOB and rightfully I was justified. But I am genuinely mind fecked how we've come to the conclusion that Doc and Mirra should be playing.

Melbourne bring insane pressure, they hunt the contest and attack the man with ferocity, our backline without Doc and Mirra are already bog average under pressure.

A backline consisting of Frawley/Mirra and Doc is borderline suicide, all 3 are slow of mind, they can not process decisions under pressure. For our biggest game of the season, we have 3 of our worst players with the footy in their hands. We have also gone in short through the middle of the ground, we lose Jags so we replace him with Doc! Surely Cousins would be the better option even after a 5 day break.

It's foolish of me to doubt the club but on face value this looks horrid

It is what it is. This is the team that will need to win the game for us. No point whinging about uncontrollables.

It is interesting that a mid wasn't brought in to replace him. Maybe we'll see Nash or Burton spend some minutes in the middle.
Rough I reckon. With Schoenmakers providing ruck back up to McEvoy.

Dureaya got picked because he was the only player held over from the Box Hill game that could even remotely play in the middle. I don't think after the game on Thursday Jaeger was sore, must have done something at training and now we only have mids that have played a massively intense game at Box Hill with a 5 day break.

No Cousins. It’s disgraceful selection. I’m sorry.
Cousins isn’t great. He plays as a full time mid or nothing.

We’ve backed our system in, without the need for another midfielder who has one position.

It seems that Clarko has gone for the stronger more battle hardened bodies of Mirra and Duryea for this final. Miles and Brand would be preferable from a talent point of view, but in a brawl I guess the club thinks brawn overrides skill.

Can't do anything about injuries to O'Meara and Stratton, but I would have liked Cousins to be given a shot. Melbourne's strength is their midfield. What's done is done. Let's support the boys.

Puzzling selections. I think Clarko is of the opinion that we can’t win it this year and is putting the acid on Duryea, Mirra and Shoey to see if they’re good enough to stay on the list. Disregard this post- it’s rubbish.

cousins will be a late in like Howe the previous. Cousins - jaeger.
No way we are losing a gun midfielder and running with 2 defenders and a fwd.

O'Meara's injury was surely a shock to all. No chance Cousins plays last week if he was in doubt Sunday morning.

Love O'Meara, but gee I hope this isn't something Sunday he kept to himself thinking it will come good.

Re Cegs

This guy has been unlucky for a long time. I felt he has been great coming back from injury and last week simply didn’t suit him.

Feel for him. Missed another important game.

KOLOKOTRONIS

Won't be at the club next year

We can still win tomorrow, but seriously don't know how Dureya has leapfrogged Miles.
Idk but were you expecting Miles to play coming off a five day break after playing for Box Hill on Sunday.

Duryea has played very well for Box Hill of recent. Miles form before he got delisted was questionable. It’s not mind blowing to me and Duryea will do just as good a job as Miles when he was in form.

Very disappointed that Jaeger is out but far more disappointed with the pathetic reaction to the ins. Akin to toddlers having a tantrum when something doesn’t go their way. We do it the hard way - like we always do.
Same old dickheads whining about the same old grievances despite time and time again being proven wrong.

Well ****

We can still win but Jags out really hurts. Melbourne are an excellent contested side. Tom, Shiels, Burger, Howe, Worpel would want to be on their game.

I'm backing Worpel to have a much better game. He seems willing to learn and you can see him trying to correct his mistakes even quarter by quarter.
