I think personally the picks we have is not the issue.

If Hamish rates Luko and or Rankine as the best, thats when we have to sell the "farm" to get them, that being picks not players unless potatoes.

If we settle on our picks, then Hamish thinks he get bring in guns with those numbers regardless of being a SA boy or not.

Yeah, exactly. With Port acting like such a loose canon it worries me to even try to trade up the draft board right now. Let them fire all their bullets. On draft night, when Luko's name gets called we make our final offer. Do the same for Rankine. If what we are prepared to pay isnt accepted, it probably was never going to be. So we take our picks to the draft.

I have a feeling this draft will be end up being the best of the bunch for us, and hopefully will highlight just how strongly we've drafted in the Pyke Era.

2015: Milera, Doedee
2016: Gooch, Poholke, Himmelberg, Davis
2017: FOG, McPherson
2018: As many as 4 top 21 players

That's potentially 12 blokes aged 21 or younger that will likely be pushing for selection as early as next year. Some might be our brightest stars in that time. People talk about 'rebuilding' like its a filthy word, but depending on how we handle this next month we could have done the majority of it without anyone really noticing!
+1

I like the idea that we could potentially rebuild our list inside a month and yet this year only miss out on finals by a game or two.

I could not handle our Club being a basket case like Carlton.

How does live trading work?

How much time does a Club have to offer picks and how much time does a Club have to decide?

5 Minutes?

If it makes you feel a little better, I had not seen or heard it used like that before.
Now you won’t be able to unsee it lol.

Another one is: “I could care less” instead of “I couldn’t care less”. Americans are dumb.

Except AmericanCrow of course.

TOM SCULLY'S potential move to Hawthorn during this year's NAB AFL Trade Period is far from a done deal, with Greater Western Sydney list manager Jason McCartney revealing his player is still weighing up his future.

Last week, Scully's name was added to a talented list of Giants set to leave the club this year, along with Dylan Shiel (Essendon), Rory Lobb (Fremantle) and Will Setterfield, who has already been traded to Carlton.

Add to that list McAdam and Stengle (assuming he signs with us). We are refreshing our list really nicely whilst we still have senior players in their prime

Not sure. They have given an entire day for 18 picks so I am not imagining it will be a quick process.

But rumor is that it will be a big day today!

While I would love the SA kids, Im back the Club to get the right players here, regardless of who they are.

The fact that we havent needed to do a Carlton is a testament to our ability to be astute at judging and selecting talent.

One of the few Clubs to have never won the spoon but to have won a flag. (FFS I think Port are the other)

#AFLTrades How can the likes of Brisbane compete when the best team of the past 10 years can receive an elite midfielder for pick 50 something and the worst team of the past 10 teams lose an elite midfielder (to reigning grand finalist) for pick 18.
