Why do you say Urban Myth?

What Vader said was my understanding too and what had been reported.

Unless you or someone else has said so differently.

Not taking Pavlich then was one of the biggest monumental trade decisions mistakes we have ever made.

That’s the thing about urban myths they get repeated so often people take them as gospel and forget where they come from.

1. There has never been any evidence that this is true.
2. Pavlich himself says the closest he came to coming home was later in his career to port
3. Pav regularly used other clubs to get pay rises, and low and behold he decides to stay for more moulah

There’s a couple of things here

1. They aren’t all ogilvies
2. I think we often confuse good recruitment with good development

At the top end, everyone knows who the good players are. Shit clubs don’t draft badly (usually), they develop badly.

Does anyone really believe Rendell & Haggis would have such a good track record if their picks were put into Carlton or St Kildas development programme

Couldn't agree more.

For all of the AFC's foibles they have an ability to extract everything out of someoness talent .

Unless McAdam steps up, we are going to miss Gov badly. Saying he is last 5 picked is further from the truth than saying he is first 5 picked.
What Gov gave us was a great contested mark, who would push back when we were under the pump & also good defensive pressure.

However, he has been injured much of the time, but we have missed him when this has been the case.

JJ lifted his contested marking & we need a fitter Tex. Hopefully the Fog can get fitter.

Who do we send back when we need the spare? Lynch probably but we need to look at options.

A fit Knight & Brouch in the side, with the improvement of the Gooch will be needed to apply pressure.

Well I was wrong - not as if that hasn’t happened before.

We are in the window now and need to take the opportunity before Betts, Sauce, Sloane and Walker retire.

And your view is that four draft picks, who are unlikely to contribute for a number of years, are likely to assist in that?

Holy ****.

Have you ever watched us play?

Or seen a highlights package?

Or read a match report?

****. Prime nuff
Rabbit wrote off Milera saying he will never make it just as he was exploding into one of the most exciting young players in the game earlier this year. Did the same with Matt Crouch previously. He never fails to entertain!

Milera will dominate in 2019. Elite written all over him. Had a restricted preseason this year.

There is word Gold Coast are very much into future first round picks. Make of that what you will.
Don’t they already have Brisbane’s 1st round pick next year? But I do think the would like to have a future pick as part of the potential trade as it balances the picks across the two years nicely.

And yet at the same time we give all the credit to the recruiters and declare our assistant coaches to be halfwits

I don’t get it

I tend to suspect that ultimate success is too nuanced to be debated on a football forum so much easier to sack the assistant coaches.

That's not lining Chief's pockets though

I think a recruiting scout could make quite the career out of doing the opposite of what you and Wayne suggest :)
Like not threatening to match Dangerfield free agency trade to force a trade... Or swapping JJ for Ty Vickery... KFC style. ;)

A sobering analysis.
Well it’s numbers, mainly.
And what it has been in this 2 week player trading period.
There has jockeying of position.
No mother****er in this universe wants to sit with John Reid’s son.
We are ****ing idiots for placing a Reid in that spot. M8
But we’ve been administrative idiots for years.
Long live Hamish. Everything else is reasonably rooted.

Who do we send back when we need the spare? Lynch probably but we need to look at options.

I don’t think we have an equally good option. Not Lynch. Gibbs and Sloane can push back, but not that intercepting marking that Gov gave us.

The positive thing is that we probably are going to squeeze Smith and Milera into the same team at the expense of elsewhere. Smith is quite good and Milera was developing that part of his game quite well. We may end up being a bit stacked in terms of those interceptors to start with and therefore cover an injury a tad easier.
