180-210 max after sending them in. Will be a draw anyway. Actually think England will be relatively happy with getting 258.

As I said - complete lunacy if you think that is par - but you are a poster with form.

The Test world is littered by players who perform better at home than away, but for some reason it's only an issue with Warner
Even back in the good old days we struggled. Langer and Hayden were solid but not great overseas Ponting couldn’t hit it off the square in India.

The problem is now Smith and then Warner for so so long have been the only decent bats and all are eggs where in those two baskets. So if Warner fails the pressure is always amplified where as back in the day someone would always make runs so you could get away with it

Silly question time

Rory Burns caught by Bancroft...Aleem Dar raises left hand and signals out...Burns stands his ground...umpires come together and confer, finally calling for a third umpire decision. Decision is given as out and Burns departs.

Question: Who called for the replay? Is Burns not walking off classed as a challenge? He would have been timed out if the clock had been running.

Did I miss anything here?

Reminds me of KP clean bowling Harbhajan pre-DRS. Bhajji just stood his ground and they actually ended up checking the no-ball. KP asked him "What about clean bowled do you not understand?" and he replied "**** off". Hilarious stuff.

If you send a side in under or just above 200 is par. They are 60 over par there

You have the most f***ed up takes on cricket I have ever seen.

The pitch was labelled lifeless, dry and a road yet with no cloud cover England were rolled for 258.

So if Australia had batted first and made 258 you would be saying they were 60 runs over par? No you wouldn't.

I agree, I didn’t like that. He had been given walk off or use the DRS. Don’t just stand your ground

Was an umpire referral, and no it isn't classed as a challenge.

Was a pretty clear cut catch in my opinion, seen much more questionable catches not needing the 3rd umpire

Bancroft doing his job perfectly. Blunting the ball so Smith doesn't need to come in against a bright red cherry. Should be good batting conditions tomorrow, think we'll see him graft something.

His catch was phenomenal, can keep his spot just for his work under the lid

I think the thing is he was given out and stood his ground then the umpire sent it upstairs
Would have been filthy if it cost us given it was almost a free DRS, I’d have been fine with it if the umpires weren’t sure, but they were and it wasn’t really that questionable.

Yeah look there might be some grey area there, but ultimately the umpire asked for a second look.

No damage done, but probably a bending of the rules. Was almost a pre-DRS move.

Exactly now we have DRS once the umpire has given it the only way it should get checked if the player wants it checked and reviews it

Warner averages 35 outside Australia. Not great but not terrible.

If there was someone banging the door down you'd think about horses for courses and replace him outside Australia but there really isn't.
That figure is misleading. His recent test average from the last 18 months is actually closer to 4.
I'm fairly confident he can be easily replaced.
