Looking at how Gulden has played in the NEAFL, i think they see him as a Jack replacement. Pretty close, really. Similar size, but runs all day, tackles hard and can get into space. He'll likely start on a wing at centre bounces and tail his man in in a run-with role. Seems to be what he's done in the NEAFL and allies games i watched, so that seems to be the role they have planned for him.

That wouldn't be a bad idea, by all accounts he seems like a very talented footballer with his foot skills and the way he sees the game. But I don't necessarily think that means you have to play that real talent in the guts if they're better suited to a different role. In any case, long ways to go and lots of U18s footy to be played. Forgive me for being dubious about our handling of these crazy-talented academy kids..

With all those potential talls and a fit Naismith can't see any room for Sinkers in the 22. My fear is we play Daniher as a second ruck to Naismith and he gets broken too early/easily. Definitely a transition from Buddy as he ages thinking re Daniher, so it'll be a long contract length if it happens. You would think the futures of some of our talls in the reserves like Cameron depend on the Daniher outcome.
Daniher is the big high marking forward that Buddy can't be.
We'll play him deep & he will send opposition defences into meltdown.
It will transform our forward line & it will add games to Buddy as he won't have to take the main defender.

How about we look at the Hawthorn example of what happens when you chase injury affected draft picks: Scully, O'Meara, Wingard

Daniher, Reid can 2nd ruck

I reckon they will want aliir back intercepting

It’s out of Naismith and Sinclair who is in form for number 1

Blakey wing and if buddy is healthy he will play a lot higher
That's looking a lot like a top 4 line up there. Punts.
Make top 4 & we can challenge for a flag with Buddy again.

I hope thats the thinking Ted. In any other team Tippet would have been a large power forward, and we know how that panned out, great while it lasted but the ruck role broke him down. Naismith ruck, Daniher/Reid relief perhaps. Daniher very mobile around the ground from what I can remember.

I reckon Cameron is gone.
We had both ruckmen in Naismith and Sinclair out, and we drafted a rookie, Mclean, and played him.
That tells me the coaches do not think Cameron is good enough.

I'm no Naismith fan but we still haven't seen him play a game with Cox around as a coach and we saw Sinclair improve as soon as Cox came in.

Agreed. In saying that he looks a footballer more than Grassy who looked totally lost last week seeing the game live.

I reckon they have found Dawson’s best spot of HB and he will be that distributor.

Blakey will imo be that campaigner of a match up on the wing floating from defence to help out then dragging his smaller opponent deep forward at times.

Bennell of the other wing or high HF

Still reckon Mccartin will train with the defenders if Joe comes

My sense is that Daniher is too good to pass up - presuming his body isn't completely buggered which I'm sure the club will confirm before doing anything.

If you get Daniher, you play him and Franklin forward of course. Then Blakey, for now, will probably play a lot on the wing. McCartin I'd keep forward and I'd shift Reid into defence and have him take Melican's spot. Pretty good way of doing it imo. We're certainly not starved for key position players if we bring in Daniher.
Put Buddy on the wing. Let him kick it into fwd 50 all year and Daniher may join the 100 club.

Cameron was injured at the time.

Exactly. No doubt he would have been selected otherwise.

Probably works out well in the end. Cameron was probably going anyway and we got to have a look at McLean which we probably wouldn’t have had Cameron been selected.

McClean has really impressed me. Does a lot of the ground work well but is short for modern standards for a ruck. Would be keen to stick with him though

Naismith has the height and ability to tap the Ball. Sinclair has mobility, the ability to mark the football around the ground, compete for the tap and enormous work ethic in competing. I know who I would be starting.

Said it before Ted and will say it again. Regardless of Age & Body get him injury free & Match Fit He is still the numero uno out and out match winning forward in the AFL. The overrated Lynch not fit to tie his bootlaces.

Shhhh!
Not too loud.
Daniher for 23 & Cameron.;)
How many games did Hannebery play the past 2 seasons in Sydney and what did we get for him? Can’t see how Daniher costs anything comparatively. Your post is the only one that makes sense in my opinion...even if tongue in cheek, well done!
