Why would we pay overs when we could pretty much get him for free next year? I would love to see him here next year, but not if it means making an unnecessarily costly trade.
Dodoro is a funny one. Notoriously hard to deal with, but look where all his pig-headedness has gotten their list.
Apparently Daniher will join the Swans and play in front of empty stands with fickle fans. It’s amazing what you can read on opposition threads.unsure where you get the info we have salary cap issues.........can you share?
there's another swans poster who has been doing it on the main trade thread who refuses to provide where he got his source. Are you just repeating what they are saying?

The only way you get him free next year is if he goes to the Pre Season draft, and unless the Swans finished last (unlikely?) you would have to hope other clubs dont select him?
remember he is RFA, not a FA.
Can you provide any examples of free agent offers being matched? Also when was the last time a player nominated a club in the preseason draft and didn’t end up at the desired club? The only way you get him free next year is if he goes to the Pre Season draft, and unless the Swans finished last (unlikely?) you would have to hope other clubs dont select him?

Same deal as Tippett - nobody would touch him. Why would any club want a player on their list at around $1 million per season that doesn't want to be there? Most clubs are learning it's not wise to keep (and more particularly, sign) players that don't want to be there. The only way you get him free next year is if he goes to the Pre Season draft, and unless the Swans finished last (unlikely?) you would have to hope other clubs dont select him?

That's what worries me Punts. I'm not concerned about whether the deal gets done. I'm sure it will. I'm concerned that the club will get reamed like we normally and consistently do. We have to keep our first pick.It will get done mate.
We don’t knock back players coming to us with Danihers talent.
I guess when you're willing to defend your club even after they run a systematic doping program, everyone else must seem "fickle" by comparison.Apparently Daniher will join the Swans and play in front of empty stands with fickle fans. It’s amazing what you can read on opposition threads.
Except we averaged over 30k for home matches this year, which is pretty standard.um
i think you would only be kidding yourself if you think Swans fans show up when they arent winning..its pretty widely known......Like most smaller membership clubs. If you think me calling your fans fickle is a new thing then your new to AFL...
prefer to just discuss the Daniher trade boss - think i'm more then welcome to discuss the daniher trade in here as long as i'm respectful when i'm in the oppo house no?
Don't think FA was a thing at the time. But no we get him in the pre-season draftwasnt tippet a FA? i dont think he was restricted?
No, we got him with the last pick of the first round of the pre-season draft. Despite a number of other clubs being interested in picking him up.wasnt tippet a FA? i dont think he was restricted?

On the other hand, what were Essendon crowds like in 2016 compared to 2019?
1 vs 2 years remaining on the contracts makes a difference? Don't think so. Both players are riddled with injuries (coincidentally OP) that the medicos can't fix and both clubs are looking to move them on to free up salary cap room.We had multiple years remaining on Hannebery's contract, it isn't the same situation.
um

Only example of a player going to the draft that I could think of was Luke Ball. Pies offered their second round pick and Saints knocked it back. Pies ended up using it.Mind you I dont think he will go to the draft, hence you will not get him for free.
If Daniher goes to the Draft, and Swans finish say 8-10, do you really think 8-10 clubs are going to pass on him?
Give me an example of a smallforward going for two firsts in contract.Judd, Treloar and Dangerfield were not on contract. Papley is, so it should take a lot to dislodge him.

**** me, have a look at crowd numbers, memberships, start with this year. All good to have serious chats about stuff but get your facts straight first, hence the hostility. Start your google search with "the most supported sports team in Australia".um
