Disagree. Top 5 performer for underagers over this year. Will he go there, no idea.

He is exceptional, but the way that Serong plays at the moment would unlikely translate due to his size (on inside in the guts). Definite yes to burst away and receiving of the pill.

Would be happy to get him but reckon Ade get him if do not pull trigger on Stephens
Fair enough

From what I have seen imo he is over hyped big time atm

Possibly, but his attack on the footy and bursts of speed to break away aren't going to disappear. They alone should hold him in good stead if he were to play on the inside at the highest level.

Btw are you familiar with Darcy Chirgwin from Sandringham? Tall midfielder who I've liked the look of but hasn't gotten much attention in phantom drafts I've seen. I reckon he'd be a good pick later in the draft, particularly if we go for a small(er) mid like Serong with our first.

Reckon it is 75-25 that GC get 1 and 2.

The stupid thing about giving them a priority pick is that it won't actually help them in the short term, and they need to improve significantly next year - not in 4 or 5 years time. They will be on the bottom of the ladder again next year, King and/or Lukocious will leave and then they will want more concessions.

GC Suns just have so much gall asking for a top 2 priority pick when not two years ago they gave away a top 2 pick for Lachie Weller.

and its just an indulgence that won't really help them where they most need help.

They should be putting all their efforts into getting significant salary cap concessions.

That said, knowing the AFL, they will get both.

Havent had a look at much of the dragons.

Will have a look

Eh, nobody ever wants to go there. That whole saga sounded like Freo simply took advantage of them knowing that GC would be forced to over-value a quality young player that actually wanted to play for them.

Was he worth pick 2 for them? No. But he honestly wouldn't have been too far off, all things considered. Better giving up pick 2 for him than some bloke that ends up going to Victoria for a late first round pick a few years later.

I heard last night pre game on SEN that Ross Lyon is still very fond of the Swans & gave us a huge wrap on his departure at Freo & may be the one pushing Bennell our way. He seems to like the guy & wants him to be given another chance. Like you & others have said, he won't cost us much & the upside would be huge.

Lets hope it happens. Wouldn't mind seeing Ross back at the club either

Would it be right to draft:

SERONG - 179cm
GULDEN - 172cm
CAMPBELL - 178cm

With your 2019 1st pick and maybe our 1st and 2nd pick 2020.

I know both could be 2 rounders next year etc and we may switch our picks if not picked early.

With Serong being a swans supporter helps but would it be better with KEMP - 193cm Mid/Def or McASEY - 196cm Def/ Fwd.

I can wait a year for KEMP.

""I think where I can reach the best potential of my footy is probably through the midfield. At the start of this year it was a big focus to challenge myself in that area and mould myself into what the game's allowing those bigger-bodied midfielders [to do]," he said".

Dalrymple had a history of selecting multiple small players at the Dogs

This has been my concern all along with Serong.

I think he is very talented. BUT, did you see him get picked up and literally thrown over the sideline in the NEAFL?
imagine what Tobie Green would do to him!
He's never done an AFL preseason don't forget.

I know that too.
Again, I like him as a talent.
But, if you can put 10kg on in the off season, he will only need 3 preseasons before he stops his side job as a jumps jockey.

Ryder going to the Aints. He'd be a third round pick I would imagine.

In assessing the worth of a player like Zac Jones you need to consider that he'll play 100+ games for his new club. What draft pick would typically play 100+ games? I'd love for someone to compile a graph showing the average games played v draft position.

You would really need to see comparable data for a 200 gamer where the club developed the player for their first 100

Did we?

I have no insider info either, but based on what has been made public I very much doubt he would still be a Swan even if we had drafted him.
Do you? Based on what has been reported, you (and anyone else) would have no idea on what would happen!

So we are even in that score ;)

But to answer your question, yes, I do. Based on what has been reported I think it is reasonable to suspect that he would have been angling for a return to Victoria as soon as possible. Most players at least wait until after they have been drafted to play the "I want to go home" card. He played it in advance.
