Ok Doctor... 23, 21, 18 and 13. I would suggest using your medical abilities to get your eyes checked.

So the games are going less and less (probably going to be less than that this season). Does not scream "lets go get him". I feel for him, I hate it when any player is hurt by constant injuries especially one as highly talented as Hill Sorry but I just want to take our first and get a high quality midfielder (and play him in the middle) in the draft.

One person has called to get him to which you made a claim that he is injury riddled which isn't supported by any measure you throw up.

I don't want him

That is fine, lets leave it at that. Don't want him either.

So is the lottery

Not going to happen.

It is funny. He has put off contract renewal talks with the Filth until next year. I think this has irked his coach. After Fake Reg had a monster of a game v Footscray and was clearly BOG, old FIGJAM was almost dismissive about him.

He'd probably want $1.5M pa over 5+ years. The Filth will struggle to match that.

$1.2 M for 5 years should get his interest & Pick 5 alone should do it if we stay as sh*t as our ladder position suggests.

That's no lottery, but reality in this competition as it stands.

Suspect he would ask for and get bigger offers than that.

And Collingwood would ask for next years 2020 one along with our 2019 as a bare minimum. Talls especially rucks costs a lot. He wouldn’t go from Collingwood who are contending to our side anyway. More to footy than monetary reasons.

We could just wait until the end of next year when his contract is up and put an offer forward the Pies can’t match.

They are very good at extracting every bit of their salary cap they managed to increase Moore and Langdon offer and bring in Beams (wtf?) where it was said Moore and Langdon were gettable due to Salary cap restraints.

Yes. McGuire has been clever at extracting deals for players outside the salary cap.

No doubt the demise of the lamentable Footy Show has cramped his style. Notable brilliant entertainers like Travis Cloke and Swan got regular gigs for which they were handsomely rewarded - all outside the salary cap of course.

I like your thinking Don Corleone, but I doubt we could afford to do so!

Well at the end of 2020 we would have 2 more years of Buddy. Reported one at 1.5 and then 1 mil. So we would have the money if we wanted to back end a deal post the Buddy contract (and even arguably in his last year we might have an extra $500k from the year prior).

We could make it happen (financially) if we wanted to.

I guess, but I'm not a fan of big money superstar contracts. Said it before we signed Bud and I stand by it now. The group we'll have by the end of 2020, methinks there will be quite a few future stars in that lot. I could see all of Heeney, Aliir, Florent, Dawson, Blakey or Hewett being so good that we have to fork out big money for them (we already are with Heeney & Mills if the reports are anything to go by). None may be so dominant that they command a massive contract individually, but combining their value and then balancing it out over the next half a decade or so is going to be a challenge no doubt. Adding blokes on seven figure contracts doesn't help do that IMO.
