My hope is Preuss and a gun mid or two to come into our team in the offseason. I think we end up finishing about 10th now, so our no mans land finish will not get us one of the 2-3 elite mids this draft.

There is still a lot of mids and also some key defenders that are highly rated. Plenty of mids without trading up.

Love Jones and would love him to stay (I'd like to read your info on him leaving though...you got it wrong 2 years ago) but I would do 1st round, especially if it was Melbourne's 1st because Rowell or Anderson (as it stands) 'will' be better footballers than Jones in my opinion.

I'm sure we have enough to offer what he wants, but what he wants may not be reasonable. Wouldn't pay more than $550-600k. He may want $800k. In that case I say see ya.

Do you honestly think Melbourne with their group of young midfielders have enough coin to pay Jones $800k a year, that is nonsense.
Our offer will be very close to the mark as to what Melbourne or another Victorian club will pay and it will simply come down to if he wants to go home.
Personally I think he will stay.

Wouldn’t be a bad get at all. With players from clubs like St Kilda and Carlton, look at how good they appear, and then times that by three and that’s how good they’d actually be if at any other club.
