Say nothing or be on the same page. Simple

maybe they just dont see him as any sort of priority and therefore havent bothered to get their story straight. Bigger fish to fry... They both seemed pretty casual about him tbh. Because they have too much respect for the other clubs to have been talking to their contracted players anyway..

Any interest for Sam Murray from Collingwood as a delisted free agent? After daisy going and Schumacher delisted I feel like he could be a good asset to our backline. I hope we look into this as a cheap pick up

Gday Blues fans.
Any thought of the Blues swapping 9 with Brisbane for 16 and 21?
16 for Papley.
21 for Martin is essentially a first as Suns would have 1. 2. 20. 21.

Gut feel is that Sydney won't want less than 9 in a Papley deal. Probably because your lot will be wanting it for Daniher. If Dodo gave Sydney some kind of assurance that 5 + 16 would land Daniher, then maybe it could be done.

9 for 16 and 21.
16 and 46 for Papley and 54.
21 for Martin.
85 for Betts.

Leaves Carlton with 41, 54, 72, and our 2020 picks intact.

41 for Cutler
Phillips for 65

With all this speculation about picking up a Gaff, Treloar, McCluggage, Taranto, Heeney type, I think we'd need to give up a promising young player such as Fisher, Dow, De Koning, O'Brien, Cuningham etc. to bring em in. The plan would be to manufacture another first round pick.

Zac Fisher > FREM
Ed Langdon > MELB
Pick 20 > CARL

Pick 20 + Pick 39 + Pick 44 > HAW
Pick 10 + Hawthorn’s 2020 fourth round pick > CARL
(The Hawks will then be able to match a bid around Pick 12 (considering the 20% discount) using their 28 and our 44. They can then take 20 to the draft and on trade 39 for Sam Frost).

Hawthorn’s 2020 fourth round pick > ADE
Eddie Betts > CARL

Carlton’s 2020 first round pick > SYD
Tom Papley + Sydney’s 2020 second round pick > CARL

Sydney’s 2020 second round pick > GC
Jack Martin + Pick 54 > CARL

Andrew Phillips > ESS
Pick 47 > CARL

That leaves us with Picks 9 and 10, to use how we please. If we trade them both we'd hope for a second rounder coming back to us - depending on who the player is.

lol unecesaarily complex by adding redundant trades.

Any truth to the rumours Fisher is asking for a trade?
Nah. If our board doesn't hear any decent rumours it takes about an hour for it to descend into which kid are we trading? for some reason. The past 12 months have seen nearly everyone under the age of 22 (except Walsh) brought up by different posters at times.

Fish lives with Cripps, they're best mates, well and truly 'bought in' to the club and our direction.

And you don’t want to be upsetting the big man in any way shape or form ...

As much as I love Betts we don't need him with our progression. We need to keep developing the plan we've had the last couple of years with the youth. Our top priority should be getting top end midfielders to help support Walsh and Cripps with Curnow and Murphy not being around for much longer. But there dosn't seem to be much on the market. 2nd priority is to a small word and a developing ruckman.

If we can split pick 9 + 4th with Geelong for Pick 16 and 17
Then trade 16 to sydney for papely
and future 2nd for Martin. Throw a late pick for a developing ruckman at another club.
Having another developing 1st round pick will be great for helping our list.

Betts, Martin and Papley hopefully are all coming to Carlton.

Butler- I'm hoping we pick him up as well as I think there is a roll for him to play as that defense small forward because pressure and 1% far better than anyone we have that could play up forward.

Pittonet- we have been linked to him and look like a good stop gap and back up until De Koning come on.

Bonar- the giants are looking to trade him and the Hawks and Bombers are interested. This is who we need as an inside bull to help Cripps and we should do everything we can to bring him in.

I’m really hoping a full preseason with the midfield group will see Deluca move into the centre brigade and provide something. He’s going to need to if we land all targets as his forward role will be redundant. He has upside as a midfielder though given his background and WAFL output. Assuming he is retained which I really hope he is.
