I think the only way we get a better deal than current is if the Bruce trade completely falls over and the need the 2020 second from Bruce.

I don’t mind getting guys like acres and aish, but don’t see why we need to do 3 year deals. We did 3 years for kersten and colyer and was one year too long for both.

I will say of nothing else changes we’ll be holding a first and 3 seconds next year, all of which will be pretty high. And yes the draft is compromised but we can’t do anything about that

Bids don’t come in until draft night and they’ll be plenty of teams looking to downgrade their first. Plenty of options will be there come trade time.

what happened to Menadue?
Is Blakely going to be traded?
Last chance effort for Gus Brayshaw?
Trade those 2nd rounders 2020 to get back into the first round this year?
I hate say it, but after our last couple of years at the trade table...I expect more!

"While the West Australian hadn't been seeking a move home, the Saints have reportedly told Acres he was unlikely to receive a contract extension beyond 2020 and would find it tough to crack into the senior line-up with Hill and Sydney speedster Zak Jones incoming.

He is a powerful athlete but his foot skills and decision-making can let him down on occasion"

For anyone that thinks he improves our best 22. He's considered fringe at the Saints. The Saints. I'd rather a pick than Acres

There's clearly players that don't work at one club but they just fit at another. Crozier couldn't get a game for us and this year finished top 10 in the b&f at the Bulldogs. Crisp was the stake knives in the original Beams deal and he's very solid.

The all time classic version of this is James Clement. Couldn't get a regular game for us in a very average era. He's seen as a modern Pies great by their supporters now.

I've got a feeling that Acres has the chance to be very solid for us and definitely best 22.

Our midfield is the area we have the worse depth.

The compromised draft will actually make high picks even more valuable.

If half the top 20 are tied, that means to get top end talent - you're going to need early picks.

Can also see 2nd rounders as being good currency for clubs with NGA / FS's.

Would hope we spun those 2's into a 1st

Moving our 2020 3rd to St Kilda opens up their 2020 1st, but kills their currency to get Jones.

I'd like us to offer our two/three 2nds next year to the Dogs for #13 BEFORE St Kilda try and get it for Bruce. Just to be a bitch
