Em's been a placeholder for my usual avatar while it was away in the shop getting upgraded by actual artists for today's announcement.

Having said that, Em's photo has been growing on me so I expect she will be making a comeback once Colin Young has finished reviewing our contract.

If im melbourne, unless im really really in love in Weightman then I wouldn't bid on Henry. But if i still really like Weightman but rate Henry anywhere near the same ball park, given they play similar roles Im 100% bidding on Henry because im almost certain Fremantle will match the bid and wipe out their next pick, and if they don't i'll still get a player who plays a role we need.

At the moment Melbourne have pick 3 & 8. That's it. Wiping out our next pick gives them no benefit.

"keeping clubs honest" is something some clubs like Adelaide seem to take fairly seriously and is supposedly what the AFL expects clubs to do. Of course the odds are Melbourne just pick Weightman and its a non issue but if someone does bid before our 10 it will be melbourne.

Hoping they trade pick 8 for Papley

Haha but why would they??? Maybe if they had pick 8 originally but they have clearly traded away what could be a huge cost to target someone, I doubt they did all that just to "keep us honest".

He certainly gave a 'subtle' (not really that subtle) middle finger to the media.
I liked how he mentioned that Fremantle has been very accommodating in letting St Kilda go off and get other deals done first.

Clubs don’t do that, Sydney had a bunch of handshake deals to not bid on Blakey as we will with Henry

Guessing we find out about Menadue in the final minutes once the Hill trade has been announced during the live segment like we did with Colyer last year?

From the Age Live Chat:

Hill deal effectively done
By Peter Ryan
St Kilda football manager Simon Lethlean has confirmed that the Brad Hill deal is effectively done, with picks 10, 58, a future second-round pick and Blake Acres heading west to Fremantle in exchange for Hill with a chance there will be a future pick heading back to the Saints.
While Lethlean was speaking to the media at Marvel, Swans football manager Charlie Gardiner ducked behind him to avoid questions, with the Daniher deal at a delicate stage.
