OK .. I am not much of fan of punishing people forever. People makes mistakes everyday for a variety of reasons. And some people learn from their mistakes and become better for it
There are mistakes and there are MISTAKES. Glassing a girl is not a 'whoops, my bad' mistake.
To then be held up in a male oriented workplace as a model citizen is an utter disgrace.

If we are pricks, we bid on WB player then Sydney player and GWS pick on Jones. That will knock out all 3 clubs out of draft

I'm all for this.

We will see this year if we have finally grown up as a club. So far, we have proven ourselves to be a soft club that is scared to upset the big boys.
Yet, time and again, the same clubs we always want a win-win trade with, will 100% bend us over and give us a right good rodgering as soon as they have the upper hand.

We have the upper hand this year. We have plenty of top end draft picks, plenty of tradeable players and the PSD threat to be able to use.

Let's see if we are willing to actually look after ourselves for a change.

I'm not sure anybody thinks Carey is a model citizen. Everyone is well aware of his past indiscretions. He's commentates football and seems to have a reasonable football brain.

Gee, you want our footballers to play HARD why not trade hard. You want a player going as hard as possible and not too worried about the opposition hurt feelings so why not trade hard and not worry about hurt feelings. TOUGHEN up as a club and start to play hard on and off the field.

I completely agree. I know I can be a bit of a soft touch for the club, but I will be genuinely frustrated with our commitment to rebuild and be a success again if we don't go hard at EVERY tool we have to get better. That includes - trade with us or we'll bid on your player, take or leave our offer or we use the PSD etc.

Is a one time domestic violence case for a young player a career ending crime? I'd argue that drink driving is worse and that's a 4 week ban at most.

Wow. That's a startlingly bad take.

Any domestic violence incident should be a career-ending crime. Much like any armed robbery incident would be a career-ending crime.

I'm just going by the AFL clubs recent precedent for this

-Driving a car drunk with the potential to kill a woman and her children = 1-4 week ban
-Violence against men = ok (we saw crows players throwing punches in training and it was considered "good spirit")
-Alleged violence against women = career ending?

Driving a car drunk when all you do is get pulled over/smash up property is a 4 week ban. Kill someone whilst being drunk behind the wheel and your career is over.

Again, violence again men has a context thing. If its in training, then there is some leeway as the environment has a role and leaves it to the club to sort their shit out. Same principle as you can get away with things on a football field that otherwise, you'd probably go to jail for. We saw just last week that outside of the football field, it's 10 weeks (+ internal) for getting into a fight.

If I have to explain the implications of a career ending suspension then you're not going to get it.

Yup. It will have implications on the kids life. Deservedly so.

Brad Crouch free agent thread on Trading Board reckons Dangerfield is on 700-750k per year, using as an example of why we wont get band 1 compo. Because Brad wont be paid more than Danger so therefore not band 1. There is literally articles from last year saying he nudged 1 million last year.

Danger is on around 950k-1m per year and another 300k media I would presume.

Isn’t Mardi on 400k/year in her part time receptionist roll at VISY?

That thread has become infested with a few power supporters that bring their massive shoulder chips with them when it comes to any discussion over anything to do with the crows..

Its barely worth commenting in there..
