This is Part 1

The thread is continued in part 2:

A good outcome would be Hogan & 28 for one of the teen picks GWS gets for Cameron. Hopefully will allow us to take 2 before the NGA guys.
After compo
13, 72 > Hogan, 32

That would be on pts value about pick 29/30.

But remember 32 will slide further with academy (more than Pick 13 will) and prior to draft night 72 will push forward maybe even to late 50’s. Then if we can get a pick around 50 for Blakely that would set us up quite well.

12, 13, 50, 60

Future 1st for Jordan Clark and their future 4th, if he wants to come.

Brennan Cox start backline and then to forward line when Hamling is back up and running. That crazy dude with The Jim Morrison hairdo hopefully back up running and in AA form.

Think of Aaron Naughton drafted as a defender and is now killing it as a forward 🤷‍♀️ Or we switch Cox back to forward and Taylor can take the 3rd tall defender
It's hard enough drafting forwards that turn out as AFL quality forwards. The list of defenders that became quality AFL forwards is small.

Logue is the 3rd tall with everyone fit. Cox is on the pine probably (or in the forward line if Jesse goes).

Reality I’m just trying to get Sam back to WA before he becomes a gun and we have to pay top price for him

Would love if Freo turned Hogan into Jake Riccardi somehow, obviously picks would be swapped as well, but would be a good starting point. I think Freo will still try for Jordan Clark regardless of the reports, won't die wondering. Cedric Cox, pass.

Where do we think Sydney are finishing next year, can we go:

Hogan and our future first for pick 3?

Bid on draft night, swap 10 and 26 (or whatever it is for their future first after a bid on Campbell.

If Sydney rate themselves as good as us, they can get Campbell, Hogan, 10 and 26 without losing anything next year.

Alternatively, Hogan is worth **** all and Sydney can get him for a 3rd round pick, take DGB at 3 and Campbell...

No guarantee at all that sydney would match a bid at 3 for Campbell. Most draft watchers have him about the 7th or 8th best player in the draft pool..

My scenario is more about holding 10 back until a bid comes through, then trading it to them. Pick 3 for Campbell isn’t involved

So Jordan Clark just won the sprint

So did James Walker a few times, didn’t really mean he could play.

Nice. Actually he wasn't too bad a player. He's probably what we need right now. His pace would be handy.

Jimmy Walker went ok. Wasn’t a star but he ran fast, ok disposal but not flash, average footy brain, and 151-game Life Member of our footy club. Extracted every dribble of whatever talent he had out of himself. I liked the bloke, especially when he went on one of his up the guts runs... right up until the split second he kicked it, then it was a close your eyes and 50% of the time you’d be happy when you opened them again, the other 50% it was ‘Who TF was that to??’ I think sometimes his legs ran faster than his brain 😆 But I liked him 🤩

So did Dramafield... Pretty he sure he won three times. Think he goes alright.

How does the risk factor stack up in recruiting a tall that becomes a success?

193cm and above players that were drafted in the top ten picks since 2013 as a sample with games played.

2013 - Boyd 61, Bontempelli 145
2014 - McCartin 38, Marchbank 48, Wright 66, Moore 89
2015 - Weitering 93, Schache 56, Weideman 44
2016 - Logue 28
2017 - Naughton 53
2018 - Lukosius 38, M King 18, B King 31, Blakey 38 (edit)
2019 - Jackson 6
Interesting you start in 2013. Why not 2011? Unless you didn't want to include Cameron, Lynch, Dixon and Patton.

Had a solid career.

Would have had more respect if he didn’t go pick 6.

I agree, but clearly the club doesn't. It's a Hogan fire sale, and desperate sellers tend not to get good deals.
Maybe. Time is rife for speculation, with trade season creep. We'll see how much is clickbait in time I suppose.
