Seeing games or watching games. big difference, Still don't think you have watched Frampton play much football,
Also Fog, Tex, Lynch and EH is leading type forward line,
With the only contested pack crashing marker being 193cm which has been a weakness in the Crows line up for a few years.

All I will say is wait and See you may be surprised.

Who does Richmond, West Coast, GWS , Geelong , Collingwood have that is similar to Frampton

That's what I thought.

So you knew him in school, but not seen him since. That's ok, I was just trying to determine if you could validate the perception raised on BF that he is drinking his own bathwater from personal experience. I've got my answer. Thanks.
What? It’s got nothing to do with me, I don’t know him at all. I didn’t post it.

The poster who gave the information was clear in his post that he had personal knowledge previously and that he has personal knowledge more recently. If you had read his post properly it’s obvious.

Unfortunately like so many others on here, you’re so obsessed with interrogation of the poster - SOURCE or gtfo....that you missed the actual message.

Without doubt I think our biggest effort this year will be getting players to buy into the team first mantra, and the idea of running without reward. A study was done on soccer players and it was found that each player had only 60-90 seconds of actual possession for the entire 90 minute game. Barcelona run training drills of 'overload' where there's an almost higher emphasis on team/player movement without the ball, particularly when not in possession. You watch the better teams of the last few years and their emphasis on team pressure and work-rate is of the highest priority.

Fagan started mentioning this last year. And I can tell you at Lions training there is a big emphasis on it.

Ross Lyon? I've previously said I don't think he's a good coach because he has failed to deliver a flag from multiple chances and years in the system

Brutal.

Guy lost 2 grand finals to two of (arguably) the greatest dynasty teams we will ever see (Geelong in 2009 and Hawthorn in 2013). A freak bounce in the 2010 Grand Final cost them a flag.

To say Ross Lyon isn't even a "good" coach is shocking.

As for players, I said in this thread there were two justifications:

1) Part of a premiership team
2) Proven quality via external rankings eg. Brownlow, AFLCA and other awards

I'd also have a third justification which is they're young/developing which doesn't apply to Mackay

So either the player is proven to deliver success, or is good enough to deliver success in a quality environment (but is unlucky due to various factors), or their quality has yet to be established at AFL level

You do realize its the AFL not the NBA right?

Hey guys, dropping in again just to ask about Ben Keays.

Any word on how he’s looking this preseason?
He looked good in the internal trial last week, playing in the midfield for the possibles against the probables. IMHO, he is 40/60 to make the squad of 26 for the match against Melbourne on Saturday

Way to overreact, heck.

I thought is was a genuine question (I'm glad he asked it, as I wondered the same ie did the friendship extend beyond school to now). Nothing to do with interrogating, just qualifying the recency of his invovlement with him.

You probably should have read (or interpretted) his post properly.

Edit: evidently you can't say f word with an 'a' instead of a 'u' now! fun fact.

Wrong

I reacted because his original question was answered simply by reading the original post. But putting that aside his question was answered again - emphatically. Based upon knowing him previously up until now. It really couldn’t have been any clearer.

But no, not enough apparently as he keeps going. So yes interrogation and despite being told, is happy to conclude differently when answering me.

This is consistent with the BS good posters have to put up with every time they offer knowledge or information.

It’s a particularly ridiculous line of questioning when anyone on here would know DJ75 has a long history of posting with knowledge of that player.

Question - Is Ross Lyon a good football coach?

If premiership success is the only validation that a players selection was justified - I feel sorry for Nathan Buckley, Gary Ablett and Robert Harvey.

Next in sports news: Aaron Keating in, Tony Modra out.

The crux of the question was around whether he is still in touch with Riley at a personal level. The only statement in the original post that spoke to that was 'Now I see him and he has changed' - you can forgive someone for wanting to know if that was still in a personal context, or now from afar. Again, I was wondering the same thing - not in any way questioning the veractiy of his post, simply to get the context of his comments.

Bloody hell, I'm glad I didn't ask the question like I was going to.

Ok fair enough - leaving aside it was clear in the original post, DJ75 comes back and answers the query...emphatically.

Then he goes again ...WTF?

That’s what teed me off more than anything - how many times is someone supposed to confirm ?

I think he's done. As some will know, I've been on the Knight wagon from the very start, having known him well through his High School years.
Unfortunately, he's not the same guy I knew. Back then he was a super driven and determined young man, who was hell bent on making it to the highest level. He was a really humble but determined guy.

Now I see him and he has changed. He is full of ego and superiority. He acts like a boof head footballer who thinks he is better than everyone else and that he has 'made it' (too much time with guys like Atkins I fear). Sadly for him, his belief in his position in the game is well above what it actually is. He's become one of the guys who thinks he is entitled to a position in the AFL team, rather than seeing he still has to earn it.

This injury will set him well back and it's going to be incredibly tough for him to get back in, especially once one or two guys grab their opportunity.

I fear that Riley is heading for a very large reality check come the end of the year.
I've quoted the initial post. To be it's ambiguous, but if it's clear to you, good for you. "Now I see him and he has changed" - I see him too, on the TV, on website, etc, but it doesn't implicitly mean DJ sees him on a F2F basis...IMO :)

If someone says "he is full of ego and superiority", "acts like a boof head footballer who thinks he is better than everyone else", I just wanted to know where he got his info from.

But you can have a crack at me for clarifying if it makes you feel better. I'll focus on the content of the initial post.

I agree. It's clear that the DJ75 knew him well when they were younger. It is not clear from the OP what their current relationship is, or how well DJ75 knows him now in order to be making those character assessments.

You do realize its the AFL not the NBA right?

I'm not saying you need a team of exclusively All Australians and Brownlow winners. But you do need a team of players the competition generally accepts as quality. Whether that's just through Brownlow votes, AFLCA votes, rankings, accolades. Whatever it is, for a player's selection to be justified, someone outside the four walls of the club has to rate that player

Your not serious are you, we are talking about typical big body Tall forwards who take Contested Marks or bring the ball to the ground,
you know Players Like Lynch, Hawkins, Cox, Dixon, Cameron.
"You're", as in "you are"

BTW, I don't think Cameron fits into that group

Don't be "ridiculous"

Knight's over the top goal celebrations for a player of his caliber (and who averages a less than a goal per game) has always rubbed me the wrong way.

Doesn't surprise me that he also acts this way off the field
Knight is still living off the 2015 elimination final against the bulldogs at the mcg where he kicked a goal under pressure from 40 if my memory serves me correctly. Can't remember if he pulled out the chainsaw manouvre or not but the goal was basically the only thing of note I can remember him doing on a football field. The revisited chainsaw manouvre last year should have sealed his fate in regards to a trade but he was saved after the Papley trade fell over. Will be delisted end of the year one would suggest. I love goal celebrations if done by certain players who can back it up (McLeod) but Knight was the last player that should have been doing them and it reeked of a pervasive selfish look at me culture which had enveloped the club. The Team First mantra which Walsh and now Nicks have prioritised is the key to a harmonious organisation moving in the same direction.

If you watch the EF back Knight was dominant for a lot of the game and kicked 2 pressure goals...it was the game where everyone sat back and thought this kid could really be something. Unfortunately we have not seen it since...

Thanks very much indeed for this post: the meaning was very clear to me.

I just have a further question: do you think his attitude reflects a similar attitude pervading a large portion of the team? If so, could this be the main factor involved in the "team splits" of the recent past, and the consequent departures?
