What are folks thoughts on trading pick 2 & Brown for pick 6 & 7?

I reckon it's worth serious consideration, if Phillips dropping down the order is the expectation from the clubs.

6, 7, 9 & 25 to the draft.

That's possibly Phillips + Bruhn/Henry + Cox/Reid

I am gun shy on getting rid of #2. It's the equal highest pick we've ever had. I want to take it to the draft and pick a great young player with it. I don't know if quantity is greater than quality in this case, even if you are getting three top 10 picks

And the Saints netted a second and third round pick. And we'll be lucky to get a second for Brown?

Difference of course being that Bruce (not to my memory at least) wasn't publicly pushed off a cliff by his club a month before the trade period actually started

So Saad is worth Pick 7 as a nice to have HB flanker from a non finals team but Brown isn’t worth anything inside pick 30 after kicking more goals than anyone in the three years pre Covid?

Riiiiiight.

It doesn't say he is worth pick 7, says worth first rounder and 7 is the only one they have.... so they need to go and split it somewhere

The murky factor is the cost of Ben's contract and the viable field of candidates at that price.

Who do we blame if we seriously get a sh*t return for Brown? Which it looks like it may be heading that way.

This "showing our hand" stuff has been overblown.

Sooner or later clubs will have known that Ben was available for a pricey contract.

Why don’t north say to adel we will pay crouch enough to get them band 1 we get crouch and they give us pick one we get McDonald then they get our picks 2 and get pick 3 Comp done

Was Josh Bruce pushed out by the Saints?

Josh Bruce's move to the Western Bulldogs has been described as "an absolute bargain" after a last-minute trade on Wednesday night. Bruce will move from St Kilda to the Bulldogs in exchange for picks No. 32 and 51.
He was not well liked by staff or players and they wanted him gone.

I have said it before Brady wasn't going to have the wool pulled over his eyes with Rama extorting more money for BB. The other clubs have seen this as well. What Rama hasn't factored into his plan is that BB may have to go to the draft, which means he will have to accept whatever deal he is given, which could be a hell of a lot less than what NM was offering in the first place. In this environment, this is an absolute balls up by Rama.

Josh Bruce says St Kilda weren’t looking to extend his contract beyond 2020, which led to him looking away from the club and eventually securing a move to the Western Bulldogs.

The security of a long-term contract was something St Kilda couldn’t guarantee the 27-year-old which is ultimately the reason he opted to depart Moorabbin for The Kennel.

“They (St Kilda) weren’t necessarily open to trading me, but they weren’t also looking to extend my contract which was something that I was obviously really keen to do,” Bruce told SEN’s Time On.

This is spot on.

Yes i agree but now Brown is out the door i couldn't care less what Brown's contract may or may not be, i am concerned for what we will get for him.

Maybe we don't want McDonald?

Then we put together pick 9 hope say pick 10 for brown and we give up pick 25 and higgings to cats for pick 13 sopicks 9 /10/13. For Sydney pick 4

To an extend yes but we are going to get shafted for one of the better forwards in the game.

Mate, if they're going to keep playing him in the goals square dropping the ball on his head, then he's not as valuable to us either.

It's not my preferred way to go about things, but that's how it's looking.

Okay, the fact that they are an old list also tells me that they would shoehorn anything they saw as capable talent on their list in to their starting 22, yet at 21 years of age thay haven't included Constable, nor are they looking to consider him as an option for the foreseeable future.

It's not as if it's a physical development thing either, he's bigger than Selwood, Stevens and Simpson.

Beware the overhyped Geelong reserves player.

Not saying I wouldn't take him, but given he went in the 30's in his draft, can't crack more than a sniff after 3 years and they are looking to bring in other mids when they could play him......it'd be a 4th round trade for mine.

early reports that we were interested but then denied we have zero interest. (thank fu**)
