Based on current delistings how many players do we need to bring in? Obviously will change with potential trades as well.

At this stage, we have 26 contracted players with 8 in limbo (34 Total) - So we need to add 9 players at this stage

So with our current delistings

we had:
4 rookies
1 cat b rookie
39 Senior players

We have
2 rookies
1 cat b rookie
34 Senior players

Zurhaar has to be upgraded and in all likelihood (I am hoping) so does Kryon.

in that scenario we have (and if my math is right)
0 rookies
1 cat B rookie
36 senior players
6 spots available

The list is current prior to trade period, any player loss will need to be factored.

We had 45 players last ssn

44 (38/40,4/2 Cat A, 2 Cat B)

CLUBS are preparing for a small trim to playing list sizes for next season ahead of potential further cuts in the following years.

Negotiations are still ongoing between the AFL and AFL Players' Association, but it's looking increasingly likely there will be 42 players on lists in 2021, plus up to two Category B rookies.

That would be down from 44 this year, with three Category B rookies, a status designated to international and alternative talent prospects.

Why are Cat B rookie spots being protected? An additional 2x protected standard rookie slots (for guys who you know, played football growing up) are surely more important?

If Geelong want to load up for once last shot at a flag next year for Danger then they will overpay for mature quality starting 18 players.

And with them having 3 firsts they are in a position to overpay.

Package up Higgo and Polec for their pick 10 with us paying the bulk of next years salary.

I want 15 and 16 if they are that desperate and we are paying the bill

That would be a good trade.

Notably because 6 wont be getting pushed out by any Williams, Cameron, Daniher compensation picks either.

I'd happily death ride the Bombers into next years bumper draft also.

it feels so close, but it ain't 2 first rounders, may if they give us 42 for our 65 it would all fit into a nice little bundle ;) we are wagering that their first pick next year will be better than 9

in essence it is

and we are trading our 9 for their first rounder next year to allow them to trade 6

Going by nothing but Youtube highlights, Campbell seems like the most aggressive runners out of the mids and I would be happy with Campbell+Phillips combo. That would make our young midfield have a lot of dimensions in two years time.

about time someone joined with me in the pursuit of BC @ 2 ;)

Are people forgetting Shaun Higgins is 32 years old? 33 when next season gets underway.

A 2nd round pick would be overpaying. 1st round pick? Dreaming.
They are trying a last ditch top up to win a premiership for dangers. Any price is viable. They want what we have.

If we take unders, I won't be disappointed.

I will be angry.

Saad to Carlton, * gets their pick 7.
Daniher to Brisbane, * gets 1st round compensation, a pick after their pick 6.

They have pick 6, 7, 8 in the draft. Brown declares he wants to go there, and Dodoro offers us their next pick (current #41).

I stop watching footy in rage.

Here’s some other words.:

Apoplectic, livid, seething, incensed, outraged....

Accepting second round picks or unders for Ben Brown is a fire sale move and it will take some doing to convince me it is/was the right decision.
