I am in love with the new coaching / drafting / random personal at the club. Have done a wonderful job two years running with such a limited hand. It's like we went in with 66 playing it like AA and hit quads on the flop!
Still got a decent pick in the draft coming. Incredible effort.
If Hickey plays a senior game at swans will beat Giles, who only played AFL games for 3 (no senior games at Port). Always thought Hickey would be a record setter

looks like if he wants a 2 year contract he should try and get better and other clubs besiseds us will go for him. Glad we are only offering 1 year.

Pretty obvious news I'm sure, but a close friend of mine is well ITK at Geelong & informed me that Jack Steven has retired. Will see if it comes out soon and see if he's correct. Makes sense! Shame, loved Stuv but no one can dispute we did well from his trade.
Bit of pineapple express strain for sure. I wouldn't mind some myself...

They are two pretty separate deals- the dogs still wont get anywhere near collingswoods asking price for treloar, even if dunkley goes.
I'm tipping dunkley AND treloar are little chance of going anywhere.
Some slightly off-topic news, there were a few worried about Matty Parker and how he’s handling things.

Bulldogs want two early 1st RDPs. They are aren’t budging. Essendon are holding out to pay only one early draft pick.
In the meantime, the Caldwell deal remains in limbo. GWS want an early first rounder and Essendon are offering a future second rounder.
And the Cameron deal is still to be resolved.
Looks like there may not be time to complete a lot of smaller trades.
Absolutely love that tackle, was the turning point in that game I thinkHappy for Tom Hickey to be at his fourth club. Definition of genuine journeyman. I’ll never forget when he was standing the mark to bob murphy at full back, bob tried to take him on and he ailed him. it was a real ‘i believe that belongs to mr Gilmore’ moment.
it’s also not his fault we traded pick 13 for him and Brodie Grundy went at 18
amazing to think we had 12 & 13 and we turned them into Hickey, Lee, White and Wright. Admittedly it’s a f**kin horrible draft but that is diabolical

The best thing for Essendon here would be for the Dogs to walk and refuse to trade.
Those 3 picks could set them up for a decade.

thats very true. if it had to be between parker and lonie, i prefer Lonie. i like Parker, but probably due to covid 19 and hubs etc, and not getting a run in the 2s, his 2nd year unfortuantely was not much .

I agree. They should take those picks to the draft and inject some elite youth into their squad (pardon the term inject).
With clubs only needing to take one player in the draft instead of three, suddenly 3rd and 4th round picks have a higher value! Those later picks will be shunted up the draft order. We'll snag a few bargains.
