We are clearly in the market for a HBF. Options & likely round based on mocks (I'm sure I've missed some):

2nd Round Potential - Wilmot, Rayson
3rd Round Potential - Rayson, Rankin, Banks

With the amount of mids we’re stockpiling- can any of those play back.
TT is probably the best fit but don’t think we play him back there

Do the people who want to trade our 2022 R1 know what the top prospects for next year are like? (I don't.) I know we're optimistic on here about how we'll go next year but bear in mind that Adelaide looked good at the tail end of last year and start of this year and ... I bet they're glad they still have their R1 pick.
Not being facetious but what's the draft like in 2024, 2025 or 2030?..

The idea of potentially picking up a 'diamond in the rough' next year or the years ahead means SFA when there's a ready made gun in this years draft.

We're far more advanced than Adelaide so don't get caught up in that comparison.

Um there's a bit of a difference between next year, where we've been told there are more KPPs, and several years into the future. We could improve and win twice as many games next year and still end up with a top 5 pick. Gibcus looks nice and athletic - I had thought he was a bit undersized, but apparently has grown to 198cm - but if he was a ready made gun you'd think he'd be a consensus top 3 pick.

My thoughts too.
2 picks in the hand is worth the possibility of getting some better later.
The way the teams set up and possibility of offloading some more of the 'experienced' guys I'd be selling the farm to get as many high picks as I can.
Would love another top 10 pick

Who has actually sat down and done the sums 'there's more midfielders this year, there's more KPP next year' chestnut since 2000 and proved it's accuracy?..
The media pump it up to get clicks and to keep you hanging on for next year..

I'm guessing nobody has, so I'll stick to my pretty straight forward method of picking someone who is ready to go.

Gibcus has been talked in the top 5 for a while now.. that'll do me..

Well ... we're gonna find that out this weekend. I'd like to think we are further along tho.

We have three first rounders from 2017 and two from 2020. Adding another one or even two this year, plus our second pick around 20 means we have a good bunch of talent concentrated across a smaller number of drafts. That makes more sense. Instead of waiting till next year that pick is developing with our players in the new system we are building. This is our first proper pre season coming up under Noble. The more people we can get together developing under this system with Noble from the start, the better.

excellent post
Tiggers, who knew…
Cards fell their way
Players none of us know with 3 medals around their neck
We get the talent in and then start moving those magnets around
Think Spicer will be good

Gibcus HAS to be a priority.

6’5 with a freak vertical leap and intercept game - he’s exactly what we need at CHB for the next decade.

Swap 2022 first & pick 38 for GWS pick 3 & 2022 third rounder.

1 - Horne
3 - Gibcus
20 - JVR or Williams
PP - Electric small forward
69 - Archer

Rookie - Project ruckman
Rookie - that midfielder that should’ve gone top 10 but slipped to our rookie pick..

Win draft week.

*moonwalk out*

The only way we get Gibcus is if we trade out pick 1.

It could look something like this-

In: 3, 12 + future 1st (GWS)
Out: 1

Brady needs to bring out his special herbs and spices this draft period.

Could set up a dynasty.

Edwards too - he was touted top 20 before we swooped MSD.

Not a bad little year to have a bad start to the season. Blood some youngsters, learn the game plan, lay the foundations, get the troops back, vfl team picked right up, pinch a first round pick in the middle of the year, come home strong playing uncompromising footy with the best skills I have seen in 15 years at the club and the cherry on top, the number 1 pick 😂😂

No crowds for the past two years while we've been down the bottom has been handy as well. Can't imagine the sort of articles we'd be seeing in a non-COVID-affected season, particularly with the current drum beats for a Tasmanian team.

Maybe in 10 years time.
He’s to valuable in the middle and forward
I agree but we will have a few to pick from in a few years in those middle to forward roles .
A bloody good problem to have hey ?👍
Don’t underestimate the importance of this highly skilled , line breaking , set up the play from HB (1/4 back role )
TT fits this role perfect. 👍

Yeah true.
I reckon Horne will start there - would be a good spot to ease him into the side.

I see a fair bit of silk Burgoyne in TT. Plays wherever he’s needed to brilliant effect.
