Lol seriously can we just have a ban on posting things ol clickbait Kornes says…

none of it is interesting and it’s all designed to just stir people up.

Hodgey wants a new rule! Hodgey gets a new rule.

No more clickbait shit from Cornes in here.

Also:
Can we also threadban Rendell quotes. The bloke is senile.
Done ✔️

How about sending Impey to GWS? Provides run off half back which CJ showed he can play that role. I'd rather keep him but if the media is to be believed we want picks and Impey has currency.

No way, love the Imps....

I wonder how far off would we be adding in 3 good kids, and keeping the big 4, they still have plenty of footy left in them.
Adding in the development of the young crew who will all see more footy next year. Plus keeping hold of a pick for mid season, with a full season of VFL i would be amazed if it didn't throw up a few diamonds. Ala Newcombe and Bramble.

I do not think we have to do anything. We have 3 good picks, example Ward, Knevitt, Bazzo. It is only if you want to bring in more than 3 players that gets tricky, you either split picks or trade players out.

It's possible to successfully go about the rebuild without any big trades out this year.

It just means there will be almost NO room for error at the next 3 drafts. The club will have to absolutely nail the 6-12 range of the draft, which is where I think the club will be. Possible. Just very difficult.

We are also one of the only clubs with salary cap room. We should be able to pick up some FA’s over the next few years as well which is something we haven’t done since it came in. Would be huge to add a decent forward and mid through FA.

Ah well. We’ll just ship off chad next year and he’ll prob get a worse contract outcome and outcome for the club. Yes players don’t have to agree to be traded but no player is bigger than the club and this ‘I’m not f’in leaving’ stuff is childish but in line with some of his on-field stuff this year.

Reckon a few of our overpaid senior players will get a reality check of their football mortality and real football worth over the next 12 months. We’re in a rebuild. Refuse to be traded = you better farkin step up in 2022 and good luck getting a contract extension.

Is that you Jeff????

Based on what Cleary and Browne said on their little 7news update GWS are trying to push Hill elsewhere than Essendon

wonder if a Gunston would interest them in a similar type of trade despite him not being a small forward

Elite isn't a word reserved for blokes that haven't made an All Australian, let alone a squad, since 2015. Or won a Best & Fairest since 2013.

Chad at his best is elite. But that's only a handful of time per year.

No matter how much fans love him as a player, and how mercurial he can be, the reality is he wouldn't be considered a top 30 or 40 player in the competition based on output.

Doesn't Champion Data have him in their best 22 for 2021?

So I've just read through 10 pages of Chad hypotheticals and the net result is Chad Wingard isn't going anywhere.

An out of contract player next season who I feel would compliment our midfield is Ollie Florent. I consider him to be Adam Cerra lite. Although Sydney would probably ask for too much if the Dawson situation is anything to go by.

Wingard might be more willing if he went with Impey

I'd be cautious about losing three experienced, high quality First Nations individuals from the playing group in one year. Especially as Aboriginal officers were cut from the league from reduced spending.

I think it's good for the club environment to have a confident, strong voice there for kids coming in and I'm not aware of that from the coaching staff either.

Gutting heart and soul players is not worth it. Consider the collateral that does to guys like Impey and Brockman who look up to him at the club.
Heart and soul players?? This isn’t a 3 time premiership player
He’s been on the list for two years and done bugger all

Chad at his best is elite. But that's only a handful of times per year. Usually comes in a block of 3 or 4 games when he's up and about.

Tom Mitchell may be boring as fu** to most, but he is genuinely elite. He does it week in, week out. He's back end of the year was as good as anyone's really.

Guess Burgoyne was just a plodder for all those years. B Grader. Hodge no individual season awards after 2010. Not elite for the threepeat.

If we go into next year with Wingard, O'Meara, Mitchell and Gunston all still on the list we're looking at being a perennial middle of the round team.
FOREVER!!!!

Doomed! Perennially! Just because of these 4 campaigners are on the list for ONE year!

I'm so torn with all of this. I want to keep Chad but I also ant pick 2 if indeed its on the table.

I understand love for Chad, but if we are getting callaghan with pick 2, we should be happy to trade anyone out of chad/tom/jager.

It’s irrelevant because Pick 2 was not involved in the proposal.

Three years, and every minor period of success we've had during that period has conveniently coincided with Chad playing very well

He clearly loves the club, his teammates, is capable of the incredible and has a huge impact whenever his body is right and he can play 75% in the midfield.

He wears his emotion on his sleeves and is committed and passionate about the club and his football, and wants to make those around him better.

He's also very intelligent and will (if he wants) take over the unofficial mantle of indigenous ambassador for the club and any help mentor any of the younger lads coming through who may be moving from interstate (indigenous or otherwise).

Bugger all? Rubbish
